STACK Takeoff & Estimate Reviews & Product Details

Stack is very feature rich. It has an expansive takeoff item and assembly library to customize and build fluid bids. It make's collaboration with other estimators in various locations very seamless. Integration was simple for our smaller team size. We use this software every day in both residential and commercial applications. The customer support has been solid as we run into issues. The features added to the newest estimate worksheet seems to be geared exclusively to GC's more that trade specific estimates. The Labor and Material worksheet is our goto on all proposals. It would also be nice if Stack would send email natively instead of having to download excel or pdf's that lack custom formatting layouts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The customizability at the TAKEOFF level is the best. Creating our own items, assemblies, and being able to change how measurements calculate costs is super easy and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Lack of customizability at the ESTIMATES level. There's certain things we have to manually input every time we do an estimate, and it'd be nice to have a place to say

It's design makes it easy to go as detailed as needed to conduct my takeoffs for all hardscapes! Makes it a plus when I am able to add a legend that makes it easy to follow when I send takeoffs for review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I enjoy the ability to search for any wording on the plans or even my takeoff list if it becomes long. This ensure I don't miss details for things such as waterproofing or BSM controls which can be difficult to find on plans. But with the search function it has reduce the time I review plans significantly. Also the ease of uploading plans and panning across each page is very convenient. Stack has helped us streamline our estimating process. We are a small HVAC/Plumbing business and using stack has made our estimation process smoother. We used to do everything long hand and enter it into excel manually. The ability to take everything off digitally and manipulate the takeoff either within stack or exported to an excel document has made the takeoff process much easier. Stack is a estimation program built to cover many different trades. As such, we have to build in all of our assemblies manually. Stack is there to support on this and help along the way. However it would be nice if they had prebuilt assemblies that could be implemented easily. In the estimate function, we would prefer labor to be calculated based on time rather than cost. For example, installing one widget should be set to take one hour, and then an hourly rate can be applied to that task.
