Unanet needs to have one platform – cloud based. Having some things updated in one platform and not the other (budgeting for instance had to be enhanced to be the same) is frustrating.
Resource planning is clunky and not user friendly for high level planning. Our PM’s will continue to use excel until the system is more user friendly (ie can add in multiple ODC items that represent different budgeted items – right now they have to all be combined in 1 line item), also being able to have a comments section next to a labor or ODC item for planning / budgeting purposes would be super helpful, and being able to list out the same class of staff (ie senior scientist) for the same phase is truly a budgeting must have because often a phase needs 80 hours in a week by 2 senior scientists and as the system is now I have to enter one line of a senior scientist for 80 hours which for resource planning isn’t accurate).
Also, several small requests have been made for a while now that just keep getting kicked aside because I guess they aren’t AI or cool enough. They are as follows: 1. Add a 3rd box in PA Bill Review for permanent notes. Currently there is an Invoicing box for the invoice and a second box for PM Instructions to biller that clears out when the G/L period rolls over for the next month's comments. Please just add a stationary box so we can put comments in like “Invoice the 26th of each month.”
The other comments I have heard are that every time someone wants to move a transaction in PA review, we have to click the button to move TX, then select Project Code bc it always defaults to project name (when moving transactions you almost always have to use the code). It either needs to have Project Code as the default or allow the user to select a default that will stay. Also when reviewing an automated invoice, EVERY TIME I open the document to view it I have to change it to whole page bc the default leaves it reduced in size and the pop-out not full page. Nobody can read it that way. It’s the small fixes that don’t get done that make me not like it. User useability experience should be as important as new abilities and functions. This is also true of setting set in the desktop that don't translate to the web based platform.
Also it would be nice if invoice templates were easy to build and alter and a separate consultant OAS module and training wasn't necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
