"Interactive, focused and easy"
What do you like best about Vevox?

I like the variety of options we can use in teaching or engagements with varying group sizes to gain immediate, focused and easy to understand data in real time. I used it recently with a class of 250 students in a Tertiary education space and was able to not only gain immediate input from multiple people, but also use the easily displayed input to encourage critical discussion on the topic we were covering (which was on health systems in New Zealand). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

I would like to see a feature that gamifies the input - there are times when gaining the data from tertiary students also requires a small amount of energy and enthusiasm. The way Vevox works now, I know it could be a valuable tool if there were a live score option for the multiple-choice questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Beadell of Vevox

Hi Witana, we're glad to hear that you find Vevox interactive, focused, and easy to use for teaching and engaging with a range of group sizes. It's also great for us to hear how you are using Vevox to successfully increase your engagement and encourage critical discussion on topics. Thanks for leaving the review!

"Teaching Through Data: Creative Uses of Vevox in the Classroom"
What do you like best about Vevox?

Vevox has become an essential part of my teaching toolkit. What I love most is how versatile it is—I’ve used it in all sorts of creative ways, especially to help students develop analytical thinking. One of my favourite approaches is using live polls to collect data from the class in real time. We then display the results and analyse them together, which opens up rich discussions about patterns, outliers, and interpretation. For example, I used Vevox to scaffold a class about sex education, and students were fascinated to see how their peers rated their comfort with the topic and the sex education they had received at school. The polls stimulated a rich discussion about the politics of sex education. Students are more engaged when they see their own responses reflected in the data, and the anonymity feature helps ensure everyone feels safe contributing.

I also use Vevox for a "pub quiz" style review at the end of semester. In teams, students compete to lock in the correct answer and score points. It's a great way to facilitate exam prep while concluding the module with a fun social activity.

Highly recommended for educators who want to make their sessions more interactive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

While I really value Vevox and use it regularly, I would like to have the option of displaying survey data in the same way we can display live poll results. The customer support is great though and they welcome feedback, so hopefully this is something that will be coming soon! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Beadell of Vevox

Hi Julie, thank you for your valuable and detailed feedback! We're glad to hear that you find Vevox helpful in facilitating exam prep and creating a more interactive and inclusive learning environment. We appreciate your suggestion about displaying survey data and I have passed that onto our feedback team.

"Using Vevox in the classroom (insight from a Uni lecturer)"
What do you like best about Vevox?

Vevox is pretty user-friendly and also aesthetically pleasing when using the web/online version. Depending on my teaching schedule I would say I use Vevox a couple times a week; definitely each time I have a lecture! I like using it not just for real-time learning checkpoints in the classroom (very handy to see where my students are at), but also, it can be good for asking e.g. students' input/thoughts via word clouds and also for responses to survey questions (even course feedback). Thanks to Fraser Hill for recently reaching out for a 1-on-1 as well, as it can be really helpful to talk through things and also hear about the latest updates (rather than always feel like you have to try to find time to read up on them via a weblink). I'm looking forward to using the new-ish 'before/after comparisons' option! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

They do regular updates and they also do try to check in with 1-on-1 chats, so if there is anything I don't like I can always mention it, rather than 'live with it'. One thing I personal don't like is the aesthetics of a Vevox poll (MCQ style) when using their plug-in, in PowerPoint. It still looks better than what we as an institution had before (competitor's software!), but I do understand there are some restrictions to what Vevox can and can't do in this respect. Just to note, they are working on it, is my understanding. In any case, I choose to share (on the second screen) the web version of my Vevox session for the students and it works pretty well. If anyone is interested, student feedback is pretty positive for use of Vevox in the classroom: students usually say it's 'fun', 'engaging', 'helps assess understanding', 'helps identify knowledge gaps', and so on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Beadell of Vevox

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Vevox in the classroom. Thank you for your feedback around the appearance of the multichoice poll in PowerPoint - we are always working on improving our add-in and will pass this onto our feedback team. We value your input and are committed to providing a seamless experience for educators and students. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to your ongoing use of Vevox.

"Great tool for educators"
What do you like best about Vevox?

Ease of usage; array of features; flexibility; readily available and responsive customer support (including phone calls!); great online resources for explanation-with the help of Grok 3, gaining an understanding was even faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

No dislikes as of yet; the price is reasonable. I have subscribed at the "Starter" level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use classroom engagement!"
What do you like best about Vevox?

I love that Vevox is so simple to use for class participants, my students can engage with it and participate in my class with their phones or laptops. This makes it very accessible, and allows me as an educator to incorporate it into my class seamlessly. I use Vevox to ask students to answer example questions during lectures, this keeps them engaged and allows them to test their understanding. The anonymous feature allows students to engage without being anxious about being embarrassed if they select the wrong answer. It also really benefits me because I can quickly see how students are following along with the content I teach, and adjust my class accordingly in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

As a contract professor, I do not have the job security or financial stability to purchase additional subscriptions. I wish the free feature had a few more options, being able to add images to my multiple choice questions would be great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Beadell of Vevox

"Fantastic - for both back and front end users!"
What do you like best about Vevox?

It's an intuitive system which allows for anyone to set up sessions. I can sort a variety of methods to capture data and create a report straight after the session ends!

The front end for participants is also easy to use so when we run sessions, there is no confusion as to how to use the platform.

Customer support for any of our needs is also fantastic. They're helpful and very prompt in response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

I haven't stumbled upon any issues when using vevox. The system does exactly what we need it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great teaching resource"
What do you like best about Vevox?

Once I got the hang of it, it was easy to navigate, and has lots of different functions that I am still finding. I work with large groups of students, and it really helps encourage student engagement.

After speaking to customer support, I am much more confident in using Vevox, and I plan on using it much more frequently in future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

When I started using Vevox it was on the recommendation of a colleague. At the start I struggled to use more than the basic functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kate Beadell of Vevox

Thank you for your feedback Elizabeth! We're pleased to hear that Vevox has been beneficial in encouraging student engagement and facilitating discussions on sensitive topics. We're continuously working to improve our platform and provide more resources for our users.

"User-Friendly Poll Creation, But Limited Options in free account"
What do you like best about Vevox?

User-friendly interface allows to create polls in few clicks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

Multichoice is available only. Because the free account allows only one poll at once, more polls types are desirable. Is it possible for nonprofit associations? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Platform for Interactive Lectures"
What do you like best about Vevox?

What I appreciate most about Vevox is its exceptional ability to handle interactive sessions with large audiences. The platform performs brilliantly in classroom settings and lecture halls, regardless of participant numbers. It's incredibly useful for engaging students and maintaining their attention during presentations. The core functionality works seamlessly, and I've found it to be a reliable tool for creating dynamic, interactive learning experiences. Additionally, the integration with PowerPoint is a fantastic feature that allows me to seamlessly incorporate interactive elements directly into my existing presentation slides, making it effortless to switch between content delivery and audience engagement without disrupting the flow of my lectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vevox?

My main frustration with Vevox is the two-slide system - having separate question and answer slides feels unnecessarily complicated. Additionally, the question slide lacks a built-in trigger or prompt feature that would allow presenters to read questions aloud to the audience before requesting responses. This missing feature disrupts the natural flow of presentations and requires manual coordination, which can be awkward during live sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Pete Eyre of Vevox

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Vevox! We're thrilled to hear that you find the platform exceptionally useful for engaging students and maintaining their attention during presentations. We appreciate your feedback on the two-slide system we'll certainly take that into consideration for future improvements, there are some limits on what we can do though, working fully embedded within a third-party software platform. Thanks again for taking the time to feedback.
