If your story doesn't hit in the first 5 seconds It's Over You don’t get minutes to earn attention anymore. You get moments. That’s why the best ads today don’t start by selling. They start by storytelling, fast. Take this campaign: It opens like a zombie thriller. Not a product demo. Not a stat dump. Not a polished brand shot. But a story that grabs your brain before it even knows what it's watching. So why does it work so well? 📌 It uses genre to create instant tension Within seconds, we’re in a world. It’s not just an ad, it’s a scene. A story. One you can’t look away from. 📌 It anchors emotion before explanation We feel before we understand. That’s what powerful stories do 📌 It educates through narrative By the time we realize the message (synthetic materials take 200+ years to decompose), we’re already emotionally invested. 📌 It aligns cause with creativity This isn’t preachy. It’s precise. The storytelling is the message. The product is the punchline. Want to build content that hits like this? Here’s a storytelling framework to try: 1️⃣ Hook with conflict Every good story starts with tension. Show us something broken, scary, or just plain weird. Make us lean in. 2️⃣ Introduce transformation What changes? What insight or solution comes next? Keep us moving through the arc. 3️⃣ Reveal your message last Don’t start with “what”, start with “why care.” Let the product or idea emerge from the emotion. 4️⃣ Make it feel cinematic Use sound, visuals, pacing, not to show off, but to bring your audience into the moment. 5️⃣ Keep it short, sharp, and story-first We’re in the TikTok era. But attention spans haven’t died, they’ve just gotten pickier. Stories still win. Always. The best storytelling doesn’t sell the product. It sells the belief behind the product. And if you want your brand to rise above the noise Stop pitching. Start telling better stories. #storytelling #branding #sellwithstories #marketingtips I share storytelling and creativity to help you and your company sell more and grow. Let's Connect! 1. Too often people tell the wrong story. It’s tempting to focus on telling your own narrative, but as Clay Hebert points out, the real key to effective marketing is telling the customer’s story. When you position the customer as the hero, you give your audience something they can connect with—something that feels personal and relatable. People resonate more with a story they can see themselves in, rather than just hearing about who you are and what you do. That’s why Clay suggests telling a “case story” instead of a traditional case study. Case studies can feel dry and data-heavy. Case story focuses on who you helped, the specific block they faced, and how they overcame it. This shift in perspective is a game-changer. It’s not just about being a great storyteller—it’s about telling the story that matters to your audience. When you put the spotlight on others, it creates deeper trust, builds stronger connections, and ultimately leads to better results. How can you shift your storytelling to put your customer at the center? Share a moment when telling someone else’s story made a bigger impact than focusing on your own. #communication #productivity  #strategy

One thing I’ve been noticing (and testing myself) is just how powerful consistency is on TikTok right now. I'm seeing a huge spike in video performance when creators stick to a daily posting schedule, especially when posting at a similar time every day. It’s not just about showing up, it's about training your audience and the algorithm when to expect your content. As a result; - I have videos consistently hitting 10M+ views - Stronger follower growth - Higher engagement & retention - Better algorithm favorability over time It’s less about chasing trends and more about being strategic and consistent. When you treat your TikTok presence like a well oiled machine, the results follow. If you’re a creator or a brand trying to scale, don’t overlook the power of: 1. Posting daily 2. Time-slot consistency 3. Creating content that aligns with your niche, but still feels fresh 4. Reviewing analytics weekly to double down on what’s working The platform rewards consistency, and your audience does too. #BrookeMonk #TikTok #InfluencerMarketing #Advice

📢 The Fenty Beauty Experience! 🎤💄🌟 I had the privilege of speaking at the Fenty Beauty Experience in our TikTok Content Studio, presented by B&H Photo Video, and loved sharing some key insights on creating captivating beauty content on TikTok. I had so much fun and wanted to share a few of the tips from my talk below: 🔹 When it comes to growing your audience and fostering a community on TikTok, tapping into trending conversations is a highly effective strategy. What's truly remarkable about beauty content is its ability to seamlessly integrate with trending topics and moments, often in innovative and unique ways. 🔹 Successful Beauty formats: 1) Providing a recommendation:We all have those go-to products we adore, and TikTok is the perfect platform to share our genuine opinions. According to a 2021 study by Luth, a staggering 70% of TikTok users rely on the platform as a valuable resource when shopping for beauty products. As a creator, building trust with your audience is paramount. Share not only what you love but also what you don't, showcasing your authentic point of view. 2) Tutorials: Another tried and tested format on TT is instructive and informative content, in the form of a tutorial— we’ve all learned a thing or two from TikTok, right? Longer tutorials, which provide viewers with extra value and comprehensive details, are an excellent starting point. With TikTok users now dedicating 50% of their time to videos longer than one minute, instructive and informative content, especially in a longer format, performs exceptionally well. As a creator aiming to expand your presence, a mix of long-form and short-form content is your winning combination for reaching new audiences. 3) GRWM: Another format worth considering, and one that works particularly well with longer videos, is "Get Ready with Me" content. Here, storytelling is key. Craft a narrative with a strong beginning, middle, and end to engage your audience effectively. 🔹My 3 tips top Tips for creators: 1) Consistency is Key: When you consistently show up for your audience, they reciprocate by showing up for you. 2) Analytics Insights: Delve into your analytics to uncover what your audience craves. They are the secret sauce to creating quality content that resonates. 3) Authenticity is Timeless: In the world of beauty content, authenticity is your superpower. Stand out, be genuine, and share your unique perspective. Your authenticity will set you apart and capture your audience's hearts. I'm so delighted to have had the opportunity to share these insights with the Fenty Beauty community! See you at the next one

I’ve generated ~40M social impressions in 2024. Here are 5 rules every single one of my videos follow. 1️⃣ Avoid Retention Editing Too many creators look at Mr Beast for inspiration, but fail to realize his audience is mostly children. Viewers want a more raw authentic experience with you. Ditch the sound effects and motion graphics. Just drop the value. 2️⃣ “But Therefore” Rule Any great story has peaks and valleys. Insert contrasting phrases like “but, however, except, therefore, or unfortunately" right after you deliver value to keep the audience continuously engaged.   3️⃣ Hooks that actually hook The hook is arguably the most important part of your video. Be menacle. Be intentional. Your hook should create a curiosity loop that can only be closed if the viewer watches the video all the way through. You’ll need a verbal hook (what you say), visual hook (what you show), and text hook (what the words on the screen say).  4️⃣ Write, write, and rewrite. I used to never write scripts. And that’s f*cking crazy. If you have an idea, start writing. It may not flow or make any sense. But just write. Jerry Seinfeld once said "the best way to write better jokes was to write a lot of jokes, and the only way to write a lot of jokes was to write every day." 5️⃣ There are never enough angles. Too many creators make the mistake of letting a clip breathe too long. Specifically on short form content. If you’re filming yourself doing work at your desk, don’t just film that clip for 10 seconds. Get 5 two second clips from different angles. This adds another element of depth to your video. This is by no means an all encompassing list. Nor do I believe this is the ONLY way to create video content. There are creators like Sam Sulek who just lets his camera rip for 45min straight. No edits. And it works (some how) These are just the 5 rules I currently like to follow. But what else would you add to this list?

Everyone sends the same post-meeting email. Bullet points. Action items. "Thanks for your time." Delete. Here's one idea that came out of a recent AE Peer Group here at Sales Assembly: Turn your notes into a 30-second video summary instead. AI-generated slideshow with voiceover that hits the key points visually. Your champion can forward a video to their boss easier than a wall of bullet points. Here's the walkthrough 1. Export your meeting notes from Sybill or whatever you use. 2. Feed the transcript into an AI video tool. Add this prompt: "Create a 30-second slideshow summarizing our discovery call with [company]. Include 3-4 key slides covering their main challenges, our proposed solution, and next steps." 3. Add their company logo to slides. Reference specific stakeholders by name. Include one data point that matters to their business: "This could save you $200K annually based on your team size." 4. Track who actually watches. Most AI video tools show engagement data. You'll know exactly who watched what percentage. Try getting that insight from your text email. 5. Follow up based on viewing behavior. Watched 85%? They're engaged. Schedule the next call immediately. Watched 20%? Wrong message or wrong audience. Dig deeper on needs. Didn't watch? They want text, not video. Adjust your approach. IMO here's when it makes sense to invest the 5-10 mins to do this: - ENT deals worth $50K+. - Multi-stakeholder discovery calls. - When you need internal selling to happen. - Deals where your champion needs to brief their boss. When to skip it: - Routine check-ins. - Low-value transactions. - Contacts who clearly prefer text communication. Here are some AI video tools to try: Synthesia, Loom AI, or Pictory. Meeting notes are commoditized. Everyone sends them. Few read them. Video summaries force attention and create advocates. Might be worth a shot.

    Building in Longevity

Google's Veo 3 turns text into AI-generated video. Healthcare will never look the same. Veo 3 is Google DeepMind’s newest video model. It can generate 1080p, cinematic video, from just a sentence... I tested it yesterday, the fidelity is mind blowing. No editing software, no camera crew. Just words → visual stories. At first glance, it looks like a creative tool for filmmakers and creatives. But take a step back, and it could reshape how we understand health. Here’s how healthcare companies might use it: ✅ 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 Imagine showing someone exactly what insulin resistance looks like, not just explaining it with a chart. ✅ 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 People don’t change from bloodwork PDFs. But what if they could see their future self, depending on how they eat, sleep, or train? ✅ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 Longevity clinics and wearables collect endless biomarkers. Veo 3 could turn them into 30-second videos that feel real, not just technical. ✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Forget stock photos of smiling doctors. The next wave of brand storytelling could be AI-generated patient journeys, personalized, visual, and emotionally resonant. Right now, one of the biggest constraints in healthcare isn't just data, it's time. Most patients get 7-minute consults and rushed advice. But what if you had access to a concierge doctor, one who knew your biomarkers, could walk you through your treatment plan, and was available 24/7? When most people imagine an “AI doctor,” they picture a chatbot, like a ChatGPT-style Q&A. But what if that doctor had a face? A voice? One who could explain your labs, walk you through your treatment plan, and answer questions 24/7, powered by Veo 3, with clinical guardrails built in? Not just talking to AI. Actually consulting with it. We talk a lot about personalized medicine. But personalization isn’t just about biochemistry. It’s also about emotion, how people connect to their own health story. Veo 3 might seem like a creative tool today. But paired with health data, it could become one of the most powerful behavior-change tools we’ve ever seen. The future of healthcare might not be more clinical. It might be more cinematic. ♻️ Repost this for anyone building at the edge of AI and health. Why do some videos get 1M views while others flop? You can almost always find the answer in the analytics. When I was growing The All-in Podcast's TikTok from zero, I learned success came from smart clip selection, editing, and understanding the analytics behind each post. I’d watch the data like a hawk. I'd look at where viewers dropped off in my videos. When I spotted a confusing segment or something that wasn't landing right, I'd change it. The difference in performance was night and day. This is exactly what we do at Good Future Media for our podcast clients, we don't just guess what works, we let the data tell us. The two metrics that matter most are: 1. Average view duration (AVD) - how long people watch before swiping 2. Number of shares - signals the algorithm this content is worth pushing If you see viewers dropping off at a specific point, that's valuable feedback. Fix the problem, try again, and watch your engagement climb. This method has helped me generate over a billion views from short-form videos. Don't see analytics as just numbers, cause they're your roadmap to better content.

Heading to Cannes? Here’s What 200 CMOs Reveal About the Creative Revolution. The Croisette conversations this year won't just be about award-winning campaigns - they'll be about how GenAI is fundamentally reshaping creative work. Where Creative Meets Scale: Our latest CMO survey shows content creation has moved beyond pilots. Text and image generation are now scaled across most organizations, but here's the Cannes-worthy trend: video generation is the next creative frontier. 30% of CMOs identify immersive formats as their priority investment area - the leading edge of what's coming. Think about it - we're watching Google use AI to reimagine "Wizard of Oz" for the Las Vegas Sphere, upscaling to 16K and creating new immersive scenes while preserving the original magic. This isn't future tech; it's happening now. What This Means for Creative Teams: ▪️ Micro-segmented storytelling is becoming economically viable ▪️ Creative cycles are compressing from weeks to days ▪️ The line between production and post-production is disappearing ▪️ Personalization can now happen at the visual narrative level, not just copy The Cannes Reality Check: While 71% of CMOs are investing $10M+ in GenAI, measurement ranks last in investment priorities. Either many have already figured out their measurement stack - or there's a blind spot forming as creative possibilities outpace proving mechanisms. My Cannes Prediction: The Lions that win in 2025 will showcase campaigns that blend human creativity with AI scale. The real conversations will be about breakthrough creative possibilities - with the practical questions about proving impact following close behind. What creative AI breakthroughs are you most excited to discuss? Check out the full report: https://lnkd.in/eVSuWxmi Thank you to my fellow authors Mark Abraham, Jessica Apotheker, David Edelman and Joanna Stringer. #CannesLions #CreativeTech #GenAI #MarketingInnovation

Last week, I spent a few hours digging into our YouTube data. Here's the exact process we use to find winning topics for our producers: Step 1️⃣: Find Your Winners - Pull video performance data (6-12 months) - Filter for two metrics that matter: views (10k+) and average view duration (2:30+) That's it. Sure, we run pivot tables to spot high-performing videos based on CTR and demand, but we focus on two measures: engagement (views) and attention (AVD). Skip the vanity metrics. Step 2️⃣: Spot the Patterns - Group videos into editorial pillars (broader themes your channel covers) - Tag each video with a topic (think bigger: 'Food & Retail' not 'gas station pizza') - Note the format (interview, explainer, tutorial) I've been using Claude and GPT to help spot patterns. They're surprisingly good at finding themes and crafting categories you might miss. Step 3️⃣: Turn Data into Insights Run your pivot tables. Look for trends in view counts and AVD across topics and formats. Then give your producers something actionable like: "bizarre business stories about real estate get 2X more views and keep people watching a minute longer than our average." This process shapes everything—from channel strategy to topic to story selection. If you're growing a new channel, I hope this helps. What else should we be doing? #contentmarketing #b2bmedia #youtube
