Abstract
Description
本発明は、光学系に関し、特に、画像プロジェクタからのユーザに表示するための画像のニ次元拡大用光学系に関する。
●ファセット間に有限の最小距離が存在する(すなわち、それらは無限に近づくことができない)。
●開口のサイズを過度に小さくすることができない。
●ファセットは、垂直拡大ファセット206Vに向かって連続的な反射を投影しなければならない。
Claims (10)
- ユーザの眼で見るためのアイモーションボックスに、結合入力領域に導入された画像照明を導くための光学系であって、前記光学系は、透明な材料から形成された導光光学素子(LOE)を備え、前記LOEは、
(a)第1の向きを有し、平面で、相互に平行な第1の組の部分反射面を含む第1の領域と、
(b)前記第1の向きに非平行な第2の向きを有し、平面で、相互に平行な第2の組の部分反射面を含む第2の領域と、
(c)相互に平行な一組の主外面であって、前記第1の組の部分反射面及び前記第2の組の部分反射面の双方が前記主外面の間に位置するように、前記第1及び第2の領域に渡って前記主外面が延在する、主外面と、を備え、
前記第1の領域から前記第2の領域内への前記主外面での内部反射によって前記LOE内を伝播する画像照明の一部が、前記LOEから前記アイモーションボックスに向かって結合されるように、前記第2の組の部分反射面が前記主外面に対して斜角にあり、かつ、前記結合入力領域からの前記主外面での内部反射によって前記LOE内で伝播する画像照明の一部が前記第2の領域に向かって偏向するように前記第1の組の部分反射面が配向され、
前記第1の組の部分反射面が、前記アイモーションボックスで見たときに前記ユーザの視野の第1の部分に寄与するように前記結合入力領域に対して近位にある第1の部分反射面と、前記アイモーションボックスで見たときに前記ユーザの視野の第3の部分に寄与するように前記結合入力領域に対して遠位にある第3の部分反射面と、前記アイモーションボックスで見たときに前記ユーザの視野の第2の部分に寄与するように、前記第1の部分反射面と前記第3の部分反射面との間の中間面に置かれた第2の部分反射面と、を含み、前記結合入力領域から前記第3の部分反射面に伝播し、かつ、前記アイモーションボックスで見たときに前記ユーザの前記視野の前記第3部分に寄与する画像照明が、前記第2の部分反射面を通過しないで前記中間面を通過するように、前記第2の部分反射面が前記中間面のサブ領域に配備されている、光学系。 - 前記結合入力領域が、前記第1の領域内の前記主外面のうちの1つに連続する第1の平面を有する結合入力プリズムを備え、前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEの厚さよりも大きい、前記主外面に垂直に測定される厚さ寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の光学系。
- 前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEとしての前記結合入力プリズムの間の結合入力面及び遷移線を提示し、前記結合入力面が、前記主外面に平行な寸法において前記結合入力プリズムの光学開口を画定し、前記遷移線が、前記主外面に垂直な寸法において前記結合入力プリズムの光学開口を画定する、請求項2に記載の光学系。
- 前記第1の組の部分反射面が、前記結合入力プリズムの体積内に位置する少なくとも1つの部分反射面を更に備える、請求項2に記載の光学系。
- ユーザの眼で見るためのアイモーションボックスに、結合入力領域に導入された画像照明を導くための光学系であって、前記光学系は、透明な材料から形成された導光光学素子(LOE)を備え、前記LOEは、
(a)第1の向きを有し、平面で、相互に平行な第1の組の部分反射面を含む第1の領域と、
(b)前記第1の向きに非平行な第2の向きを有し、平面で、相互に平行な第2の組の部分反射面を含む第2の領域と、
(c)相互に平行な一組の主外面であって、前記第1の組の部分反射面及び前記第2の組の部分反射面の双方が前記主外面の間に位置するように、前記第1及び第2の領域に渡って前記主外面が延在する、主外面と、を備え、
前記第1の領域から前記第2の領域内への前記主外面での内部反射によって前記LOE内を伝播する画像照明の一部が、前記LOEから前記アイモーションボックスに向かって結合されるように、前記第2の組の部分反射面が前記主外面に対して斜角にあり、かつ、前記結合入力領域からの前記主外面での内部反射によって前記LOE内で伝播する画像照明の一部が前記第2の領域に向かって偏向するように前記第1の組の部分反射面が配向され、
前記結合入力領域が、前記第1の領域内の前記主外面のうちの1つに連続する第1の平面を有する結合入力プリズムを備え、前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEの厚さよりも大きい、前記主外面に垂直に測定される厚さ寸法を有し、
前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEとしての前記結合入力プリズムの間の結合入力面及び遷移線を提示し、前記結合入力面が、前記主外面に平行な寸法において前記結合入力プリズムの光学開口を画定し、前記遷移線が、前記主外面に垂直な寸法において前記結合入力プリズムの光学開口を画定する、光学系。 - 前記第1の組の部分反射面が、前記結合入力プリズムの体積内に位置する少なくとも1つの部分反射面を更に備える、請求項5に記載の光学系。

前記結合入力領域が、前記第1の領域内の前記主外面のうちの1つに連続する第1の平面を有する結合入力プリズムを備え、前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEの厚さよりも大きい、前記主外面に垂直に測定される厚さ寸法を有し、
前記第1の組の部分反射面が、前記結合入力プリズムの体積内に位置する少なくとも1つの部分反射面を更に備える、光学系。 - 前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEとしての前記結合入力プリズムの間の結合入力面及び遷移線を提示し、前記結合入力面が、前記主外面に平行な寸法において前記結合入力プリズムの光学開口を画定し、前記遷移線が、前記主外面に垂直な寸法において前記結合入力プリズムの光学開口を画定する、請求項7に記載の光学系。
- 前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEのエッジ面で前記LOEに接合されている、請求項2~8のいずれか一項に記載の光学系。
- 前記結合入力プリズムが、前記LOEの前記主外面のうちの1つに接合されている、請求項2~8のいずれか一項に記載の光学系。
