Claims (33)
- 照明装置であって、
光源と、
略平面な第1の表面と、該第1の表面と反対側の略平面な第2の表面と、第1の端部及び第2の端部と、前記第1の端部と第2の端部との間に画定された長さと、を有し、前記第1の端部及び第2の端部との間にある前記第1の表面に平行にのびるx軸、前記第1の表面及び前記第2の表面に垂直にのびるz軸、及び前記x軸及び前記z軸に垂直にのびるy軸を有する導光体であって、前記光源から前記導光体の第1端部へ入る光を受けるように位置され、前記光源から受けた光が前記第2の端部に向かって前記導光体を通して伝搬しているところの導光体と、
前記第1の表面から前記第2の表面に向かって前記導光体内に突出している複数の光転向特徴体であって、それぞれが錐台形状であり、及び前記x軸及び前記z軸によって画定された平面と平行な面上に配置された少なくとも一つの曲線の転向エッジを有しており、
それぞれの前記光転向特徴体は、前記転向エッジの少なくとも一部上に設けられた複数の層を有する光学マスクを含み、
前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジは、前記導光体の前記第2の端部に向かって伝搬している光の少なくとも一部を受け、及び受けた光の少なくとも一部を前記導光体の前記第2の表面の外へ反射するように構成されている光転向特徴体と、
を備えている照明装置。 - 少なくとも一つの前記転向エッジは、前記少なくとも一つの曲線の転向エッジにより反射された光の一部が角度幅を有する円錐形を形成するように構成されている請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジは、前記導光体内を伝搬していて、前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジ上に入射する光を集束させるように構成されている請求項2に記載の照明装置。
- 前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジは、前記導光体内を伝搬していて、前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジ上に入射する光を分散させる請求項2に記載の照明装置。
- 前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジは、前記x軸及び前記z軸で画定した平面上に凸形状の外形を有しており、前記平面上に配置されている請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記少なくとも一つの転向エッジは、前記x軸及び前記z軸上で画定した平面上に凹形状の外形を有しており、前記平面上に配置されている請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記錐台は、凹形の側面を含んでいる請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記錐台は、凸型の側面を含んでいる請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- ディスプレイデバイスであって、
光変調要素のアレイと、
前記アレイにわたって配置された導光体であって、該導光体内へ光を受けるように構成された少なくとも一つのエッジを有しているところの導光体と、
転向層であって、前記導光体が少なくとも部分的に前記転向層と前記アレイとの間にあるように配置されており、第1の表面及び該第1の表面とは反対の第2の表面を有しており、前記第2の表面は前記第1の表面と前記アレイとの間に配置されており、前記第1の表面上に配置され、及び前記第2の表面に向かって前記第1の表面から前記転向層内に突出している複数の光転向特徴体をさらに含んでおり、各々の光転向特徴体が前記転向層を通して伝搬している光の少なくとも一部を受け、及び前記受けた光の少なくとも一部を前記アレイに向かって反射するように構成されており、各々の光転向特徴体が錐台形状であり、各々の光転向表面が前記受け入れ及び前記アレイに向かって反射された光の部分を集束または分散するように構成されているところの転向層と、を備え、
前記各々の光転向特徴体が少なくとも1つの側壁及び前記側壁の少なくとも一部上に配置された複数の層を有する光学マスクを含む、ディスプレイデバイス。 - 前記側壁の少なくとも一部は湾曲されている請求項9に記載のデバイス。
- 前記側壁の湾曲された部分は、凸状である請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- 前記側壁の湾曲された部分は、凹状である請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- 前記光学的マスクは、前記側壁上にそれぞれ配置された、第1の反射層と、第2の層と、及び第3の部分反射層と、を備えており、前記第1の層は、前記転向層の内部を伝搬している光を受け、及び前記受けた光の少なくとも一部を前記アレイに向かって反射するように構成されている請求項9に記載のデバイス。
- 前記第1、第2、及び第3の層は、前記転向層上に入射する光の一部を吸収するように構成されている請求項13に記載のデバイス。
- 前記光変調要素のアレイと連絡するように構成されており、画像データを処理するように構成されたプロセッサと、
前記プロセッサと連絡するように構成されている記録デバイスと、
をさらに備えている請求項9に記載のデバイス。 - 前記光変調要素のアレイに少なくとも一つの信号を送信するように構成されたドライバ回路をさらに備えている請求項15に記載のデバイス。
- 前記ドライバ回路に前記画像データの少なくとも一部を送信するように構成されたコントローラをさらに備えている請求項16に記載のデバイス。
- 前記プロセッサに前記画像データを送信するように構成された画像ソースモジュールをさらに備えている請求項15に記載のデバイス。
- 前記画像ソースモジュールは、レシーバ、トランシーバ、及びトランスミッタのうち少なくとも一つを含んでいる請求項18に記載のデバイス。
- 入力データを受け取り、及び前記プロセッサに前記入力データを連絡させるように構成された入力デバイスをさらに備えている請求項15に記載のデバイス。
- 入射する光を集束または分散するように構成された転向特徴体を含む導光体を作成する方法であって、
上部表面と該上部表面と反対側の下部表面とを有している基板を提供するステップと、
前記基板の前記上部表面の少なくとも一部にわたって材料層を堆積するステップと、
フォトレジスト層で前記材料を覆うステップと、
前記材料層上に前記フォトレジストの一部のパターンを残すように前記フォトレジストを曝すステップと、
前記下部表面に向かって延在しており、及び湾曲した側壁を有している一つ以上の錐台形状のくぼみを作り出すように前記材料層をエッチングするステップと、
前記側壁の少なくとも一部上に配置された複数の層を有する光学マスクを形成するステップと、
を備えている方法。 - 入射する光を集束または分散するように構成された転向特徴体を含む転向フィルムを作成する方法であって、
上部表面及び該上部表面と反対側の下部表面を有している基板を提供するステップと、
前記基板の少なくとも一部にわたって材料層を堆積するステップと、
フォトレジスト層で前記材料を覆うステップと、
前記材料層上に前記フォトレジストの一部を残すように前記フォトレジストを曝すステップと、
前記下部表面に向かって延在しており、及び湾曲した側壁を有している一つ以上の錐台形状のくぼみを作り出すように前記材料層をエッチングするステップと、
前記フォトレジストを除去するステップと、
前記側壁の少なくとも一部上に配置された複数の層を有する光学マスクを形成するステップと、
表面レリーフを作り出すように前記材料層及び前記基板の表面を電気めっきするステップと、
を備えている方法。 - 前記側壁は、凸状である請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記側壁は、凹状である請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記くぼみは、前記材料層及び前記基板に形成され、前記くぼみは、少なくとも一つの錐台形状の転向特徴体を形成する請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記錐台形状の転向特徴体は、凸状である側壁を備えている請求項25に記載の方法。
- 前記錐台形状の転向特徴体は、凹状である側壁を備えている請求項25に記載の方法。
- ディスプレイデバイスであって、
光を変調するための手段と、
前記変調手段にわたって配置され、光を受けるように構成されている、導光するための手段と、
光転向手段であって、前記導光手段が少なくとも部分的に前記光転向手段と前記変調手段との間にあるように配置され、前記導光手段によって受けた光の少なくとも一部を受け、及び前記受けた光の少なくとも一部を前記変調手段に向かって反射するように構成された複数の光転向特徴体を含んでおり、各々の光転向特徴体が前記受け入れ及び前記変調手段に向かって反射された光の部分を集束または分散するように構成されており、及び各々の光転向特徴体は前記光転向手段の表面内に形成された錐台形状のくぼみを含んでいるところの光転向手段と、を備え、
各々の前記光転向特徴体は、少なくとも1つの側壁及び前記側壁の少なくとも一部上に配置された複数の層を有する光学的にマスクする手段を含む、デバイス。 - 前記複数の層は、前記第2の表面と反対側の前記装置の側面から前記第1の表面上に入射する光の反射を低減させ、前記導光体内を伝搬する光を反射するように構成された、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記複数の層は、前記第2の表面と反対側の前記デバイスの側面から前記第1の表面上に入射する光の反射を低減させ、前記導光体内を伝搬する光を反射するように構成された、請求項9に記載のデバイス。
- 前記複数の層は、前記下部表面と反対側の前記導光体の側面から前記上部表面上に入射する光の反射を低減させ、前記導光体内を伝搬する光を反射するように構成された、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の層は、前記下部表面と反対側の前記転向フィルムの側面から前記上部表面上に入射する光の反射を低減させ、前記転向フィルム内を伝搬する光を反射するように構成された、請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の層は、前記光を変調するための手段と反対側の前記デバイスの側面から前記光転向手段の表面上に入射する光の反射を低減させ、前記導光手段内を伝搬する光を反射するように構成された、請求項28に記載のデバイス。
