Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled resin, prepared by grafting a monomer capable of constituting a resin component onto a specific styrene-butadiene copolymeric rubber(SBR) containing many 1,2-bonds, and having improved surface gloss, weather resistance and thermal stability.
CONSTITUTION: An aromatic alkenyl monomer, e.g. styrene, and if necessary a copolymerizable monomer, e.g. acrylonitrile, are grafted onto 2W30wt%, based on the total resin composition, SBR containing at least 60wt%, preferably 80wt% or more, 1,2-bonds of the butadiene part with a styrene content of 3W30wt%, preferably 5W25wt%. The resultant resin composition is then incorporated with a well- known antioxdant, antistatic agent, a pigment, etc. if necessary and further suitably blended with a well-known polymer, e.g. styrene-acrylonitrile polymer.
