Claims (6)
- 디스플레이 픽셀의 어레이를 포함하는 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치(active matrix electroluminescent display device)로서, 상기 디스플레이 픽셀 각각은, 전계 발광 디스플레이 요소와, 어드레스 기간 동안 상기 픽셀에 인가되고, 구동 장치에 연결된 저장 커패시턴스(storage capacitance) 상에 전압으로서 저장되는 구동 신호에 기초하여 상기 디스플레이 요소를 통해 전류를 제어하기 위한 상기 구동 장치를 포함하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치에 있어서,상기 각 픽셀은, 어드레싱하는 동안 상기 디스플레이 요소에 의해 발생된 광에 반응하고, 상기 디스플레이 요소의 광 출력 레벨에 따라 상기 어드레스 기간에 상기 커패시턴스 상에 저장된 전압 신호를 상기 어드레스 기간에 조정하도록 배열되는 전기 광학(electro-optic) 조정 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 전기 광학 조정 수단은, 인가된 데이터 신호에 따라 상기 어드레스 기간 동안 상기 픽셀에 흐르는 전류를 조절하며, 어드레스 기간 이후에, 상기 커패시턴스 상에 저장된 상기 전압이 상기 전류에 의존하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 전기 광학 조정 수단은, 상기 디스플레이 요소 광 출력에 따라 어드레싱하는 동안 상기 저장 커패시턴스를 통해 흐르는 전기 전류를 분기(shunt)하도록 배열되는 광전(photoelectric) 장치를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서, 상기 광전 장치는, 스위치 장치를 거쳐 상기 저장 커패시턴스에 연결되며, 상기 스위칭 장치는, 픽셀 어드레스 기간 동안 상기 광전 장치를 상기 저장 커패시턴스와 병렬로 연결시키도록 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서, 상기 광전 장치는 포토다이오드(photodiode)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 구동 장치는 박막 트랜지스터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 능동 매트릭스 전계 발광 디스플레이 장치.
