Description
Claims (17)
- 서로 교차하도록 배열된 복수의 게이트 신호선 및 복수의 소스 신호선, 및 상기 복수의 게이트 신호선, 및 복수의 소스 신호선의 교점에 대응하여 각각 마련된 EL 소자가 형성된 화소를 갖는 표시 화면과, 상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 EL 소자에 전류를 공급하는 구동용 트랜지스터와, 상기 구동용 트랜지스터로부터 상기 EL 소자로의 전류 공급을 제어하는 드라이버 회로를 구비하는 EL 표시 장치의 구동 방법으로서,상기 EL 소자로의 전류 공급을 제어함으로써, 상기 표시 화면에 띠 형상의 비표시 영역 및 표시 영역을 발생시키고, 그 비표시 영역 및 표시 영역을 상기 표시 화면의 상하 방향으로 이동시키는EL 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,l 프레임 기간에 있어서, 외부로부터 입력되는 화상 신호가 나타내는 계조 표시를 실현하기 위해서 미리 정해진 값의 N배(N>1)의 전류를, 1 프레임 기간의 1/M(M>1)의 동안, 상기 EL 소자에 공급하는 EL 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,표시 화상이 동화상의 경우와 정지 화상의 경우에서, 상기 비표시 영역 및 표시 영역의 수를 변경하는 EL 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 서로 교차하도록 배열된 복수의 게이트 신호선 및 복수의 소스 신호선, 및 상기 복수의 게이트 신호선, 및 복수의 소스 신호선의 교점에 대응하여 각각 마련된 EL 소자가 형성된 화소를 갖는 표시 화면과,상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 EL 소자에 전류를 공급하는 구동용 트랜지스터와,상기 구동용 트랜지스터로부터 상기 EL 소자로의 전류 공급을 제어하는 드라이버 회로를 포함하며,상기 드라이버 회로는, 상기 표시 화면에 띠 형상의 비표시 영역 및 표시 영역을 발생시키고, 또한 그 비표시 영역 및 표시 영역을 상하 방향으로 이동시키도록, 상기 EL 소자로의 전류 공급을 제어하는EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 드라이버 회로는, 게이트 드라이버 회로이며, 상기 게이트 드라이버 회로는, 1 프레임 기간에, 상기 표시 화면에 복수의 띠 형상의 비표시 영역 및 표시 영역을 발생시키도록, 상기 EL 소자로의 전류 공급을 제어하는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 소스 신호선으로 공급된 영상 신호를 상기 구동용 트랜지스터에 공급하는 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터와,상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 구동용 트랜지스터가 상기 EL 소자에 공급하는 상기 전류가 흐르는, 전류 경로에 형성된 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터를 더 구비하며,상기 드라이버 회로는, 제 1 게이트 드라이버 회로 및 제 2 게이트 드라이버 회로로 구성되고,상기 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에는 제 1 게이트 신호선이, 상기 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에는 제 2 게이트 신호선이 각각 접속되며,상기 제 1 게이트 신호선에는, 상기 제 1 게이트 드라이버 회로에 의해 온/오프 신호가, 상기 제 2 게이트 신호선에는, 상기 제 2 게이트 드라이버 회로에 의해 온/오프 신호가 각각 공급되고,상기 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터와 상기 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터는 독립적으로 온/오프 제어되도록 구성되는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,인터레이스 구동을 행하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 드라이버 회로는, 1 프레임 기간에서, 외부로부터 입력되는 화상 신호가 나타내는 계조 표시를 실현하기 위해서 미리 정해진 값의 N배(N>1)의 전류를, 1 프레임 기간의 1/M(M>1)의 동안, 상기 EL 소자에 공급하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 구동용 트랜지스터에 상기 소스 신호선에 공급된 영상 신호를 공급하는 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터와,화소 행마다 형성되어, 상기 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에 접속되는 제 1 게이트 신호선과,상기 제 1 게이트 신호선을 선택하는 제 1 게이트 드라이버 회로를 더 구비하며,상기 제 1 게이트 드라이버 회로는, 복수의 상기 제 1 게이트 신호선을 동시에 선택하고, 또한 선택할 복수의 제 1 게이트 신호선을 순차적으로 변경하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 구동용 트랜지스터가 상기 EL 소자에 공급하는 전류가 흐르는 전류 경로에 배치된 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터와,화소 행마다 형성되어, 상기 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에 접속되는 제 2 게이트 신호선과,상기 제 2 게이트 신호선을 선택하는 제 2 게이트 드라이버 회로를 더 구비하며,상기 제 2 게이트 드라이버 회로는,복수의 상기 제 2 게이트 신호선을 동시에 선택하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 표시 화면 이외에서, 발광하지 않거나, 또는 발광 상태가 시각적으로 보이지 않도록 구성되어 있는 더미 화소 행이 형성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 표시 화면 이외에서, 발광하지 않거나, 또는 발광 상태가 시각적으로 보이지 않도록 구성되어 있는 더미 화소 행이 형성되고,복수의 게이트 신호선이 동시에 선택되며,동일한 영상 신호를 상기 복수의 게이트 신호선이 선택한 화소에 공급하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 EL 소자의 1 단자에 역바이어스 전압을 인가하는 제 4 스위치용 트랜지스터를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 소스 신호선의 전하를 강제적으로 방출하거나 충전하는 프리차지 또는 방전 회로를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 드라이버 회로는, 게이트 드라이버 회로이며,게이트 드라이버 회로는, 동화상과 정지 화상에서, 표시 화상의 비표시 영역 또는 표시 영역의 분할 수를 가변하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 화소마다 형성되어, 상기 소스 신호선으로 공급된 영상 신호를 상기 구동용 트랜지스터에 공급하는 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터와,상기 화소에서, 상기 구동용 트랜지스터가 상기 EL 소자에 공급하는 상기 전류가 흐르는, 전류 경로에 형성된 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터와,상기 구동용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자와 드레인 단자 사이를 온/오프하는 제 3 스위치용 트랜지스터를 더 구비하고,상기 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에는 제 1 게이트 신호선이, 상기 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에는 제 2 게이트 신호선이, 제 3 스위치용 트랜지스터의 게이트 단자에는 제 3 게이트 신호선이 각각 접속되며,상기 제 1 스위치용 트랜지스터와 상기 제 2 스위치용 트랜지스터는 독립적으로 온/오프 제어할 수 있도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 드라이버 회로는, 외부로부터 입력되는 화상 신호가 나타내는 계조 표시를 실현하기 위해서 미리 정해진 값보다도 큰 전류를, 1 프레임의 1/N(N>1)의 동안, 상기 EL 소자에 공급하도록 구성되어 있는 EL 표시 장치.
