Description

Claims (20)
- 방법으로서,
무선 인터페이스를 통해 무선 디바이스로부터 서비스 세트 식별자(Service Set Identifier: SSID) 필드를 갖는 프레임을 수신하는 단계와, 상기 SSID 필드는:
상기 무선 디바이스와 관련된 무선 네트워크의 이름을 식별하기에 유용한 정보를 포함하는 제1 서브-필드와,
상기 무선 디바이스에 의해 제공되는 서비스를 식별하기에 유용한 2 바이트의 정보를 포함하는 제2 서브-필드와, 상기 무선 디바이스에 의해 제공되는 서비스는 프린팅, 스캐닝, 데이터 저장, 매체 스트리밍(streaming media) 혹은 매체 표시(media presentation) 중 하나이고,
상기 무선 디바이스를 식별하기에 유용한 6 바이트의 정보를 포함하는 제3 서브-필드를 포함하고, 상기 제3 서브-필드는 상기 무선 디바이스의 MAC(media-access controller) 어드레스의 일부를 포함하며;
상기 SSID 필드의 제2 서브-필드의 정보 및 알려진 서비스 식별 정보에 기초하여, 상기 무선 디바이스에 의해서 제공되는 서비스를 식별하는 단계와; 그리고
상기 식별된 서비스가 상기 무선 인터페이스를 통해 유효하게 이용될 수 있도록, 상기 식별된 서비스를 상기 무선 디바이스에 관련시키는 단계
를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 무선 디바이스들에 의해서 브로드캐스트되는 프레임들을 스캔하도록 상기 무선 인터페이스를 설정하는 단계
를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 무선 디바이스와 관련된 무선 네트워크에 상기 무선 인터페이스가 관련되게 함으로써, 상기 식별된 서비스에 대한 액세스를 개시하는 단계
를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 무선 인터페이스는, 상기 수신하는 행위, 상기 식별하는 행위, 혹은 상기 관련시키는 행위 동안에는, 상기 무선 디바이스에 의해서 제공되는 무선 네트워크에 관련되지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서,

프로세서로 실행가능한 명령어들을 저장한 메모리를 포함하며, 상기 명령어들은 상기 하나 이상의 프로세서들에 의한 실행에 응답하여, 무선-서비스 매니저가 동작들을 수행하도록 하며, 상기 동작들은:
서비스에 대한 요청을 어플리케이션으로부터 수신하는 것과;
상기 서비스에 대한 상기 요청에 응답하여, 각각의 무선 네트워크들을 통해 액세스가능한 서비스들을 식별하는 비콘들을 수신하도록 무선 인터페이스를 설정하는 것과;
상기 각각의 무선 네트워크들을 통해 액세스가능한 서비스들을 식별하는 하나 이상의 비콘들을 수신하는 것과, 상기 하나 이상의 비콘들은 각각의 SSID 필드를 가지고, 상기 SSID 필드는:
각각의 무선 네트워크의 이름을 식별하기에 유용한 정보를 포함하는 제1 서브-필드와,
각각의 무선 네트워크와 관련된 무선 디바이스에 의해 제공되는 서비스를 식별하기에 유용한 2 바이트의 정보를 포함하는 제2 서브-필드와, 상기 무선 디바이스에 의해 제공되는 서비스는 프린팅, 스캐닝, 데이터 저장, 매체 스트리밍 혹은 매체 표시 중 하나이고,
상기 무선 디바이스를 식별하기에 유용한 6 바이트의 정보를 포함하는 제3 서브-필드를 포함하고, 상기 제3 서브-필드는 상기 무선 디바이스의 MAC 어드레스의 일부를 포함하며;
알려진 서비스 식별 정보 및 상기 수신된 하나 이상의 비콘들의 정보에 기초하여, 상기 각각의 무선 네트워크들을 통해 액세스가능한 서비스들 중 어떤 것이 상기 서비스에 대한 상기 요청에 대응하는지를 결정하는 것과; 그리고
상기 무선 인터페이스가 상기 무선 네트워크들 중 하나의 무선 네트워크에 관련되게 하는 것을 포함하며,
상기 무선 네트워크들 중 상기 하나의 무선 네트워크를 통해 상기 대응 서비스가 액세스가능하여 상기 서비스에 대한 상기 요청이 이행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템. - 삭제

상기 무선-서비스 매니저는 또한, 대응 서비스들의 리스트를 사용자 인터페이스를 통하여 제공하고 그리고 상기 대응 서비스들 중 액세스할 서비스를 선택하기 위해 상기 사용자 인터페이스로부터 입력을 수신하도록 된 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템. - 제16항에 있어서,
