Definitions

  • the invention relates to a centering device for applying an adhesive label provided with an inner recess to a surface with an internal through opening, in particular on the back of a recordable CD-ROM, consisting of a centering piece and a pressure means.
  • a device for applying self-adhesive labels to recordable CD-ROM is known, WO 9605057 A1, in which the labels peeled off from a printed sheet are placed with the adhesive side up on the foot of a centering aid.
  • the CD-ROM is placed with the side to be glued down on a centering pin, which is then inserted into an opening in the centering aid until the CD-ROM and the label touch.
  • a disadvantage of this previously known system is, in particular, that the centering pin has a relatively large amount of play and can therefore be held at an angle and inserted so that exact centering cannot be achieved. Furthermore, the handles to be carried out are very cumbersome and relatively time-consuming. In addition, this known centering device does not take into account the fact that the adhesive labels, once they have been pulled off a printed sheet, bulge slightly, so that when the centering pin is inserted it can happen that a slightly upwardly bent edge region of a label feels and feels wrong place on the back of the CD, so that the work result is unsatisfactory because eccentric or wrinkled.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide a device with the aid of which a self-adhesive label can be applied centrally to a data or information carrier rotating during operation.
