On a weekly basis, the bleach was drained and the available chlorine measured, to check that no decomposition (and associated loss of corrosivity) had occurred. The vessel was then re-filled with product. No further peroxide treatment was undertaken after the initial pre-passivation.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de protection contre la corrosion d'une surface inoxydable, au moyen d'une préparation contenant de l'hypohalite. Ledit procédé consiste à : (a) mettre la surface en contact avec une préparation comprenant du peroxyde d'hydrogène ; et (b) mettre la surface en contact avec une préparation contenant de l'hypohalite.
