Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (1) zum Steuern der Energieversorgung mindestens einer datentechnischen Einrichtung (2, 4, 6) wie beispielsweise eines Computers, eines Monitors, eines Druckers oder dergleichen, wobei die Vorrichtung (1) über eine Energieversorgungsleitung (72, 74, 76) mit der datentechnischen Einrichtung (2, 4, 6) verbindbar ist und eine Schnittstelleneinheit (68) aufweist, mittels der die Vorrichtung (1) über ein Netzwerk (16) mit einem Controller (14) verbindbar ist, und wobei die Vorrichtung (1) in dem Netzwerk (16) eine dem Controller (14) bekannte Datenadresse besitzt und unter Verwendung dieser Datenadresse über das Netzwerk (16) Steuersignale zum Steuern der Energieversorgung der angeschlossenen datentechnischen Einrichtung (2, 4, 6) von dem Controller (14) empfängt.
