Abstract

Provided is a microchip which separates a sample in a short time with excellent repeatability and high measurement accuracy. The microchip is provided with a substrate (102), and a channel formed on the surface of the substrate (102) for passing a sample solution. The channel is provided with an analysis section (103) for separating the sample solution, and a sample introducing section (104) adjacent to the analysis section (103) for introducing the sample solution. The surface of the sample introducing section (104) includes a hydrophobic surface (106) and a hydrophilic region, and the hydrophilic region forms a hydrophilic surface (105) by being brought into contact with the surface of the analysis section (103).
