Abstract

 本発明は、輝度情報及び色度ヒストグラムからその映像の特徴に応じて特定の色相を強調または抑制することによって、最適な映像信号の色補正を行えるようにするとともに、任意の色相の色補正を行うことで表示デバイスの色特性を補正することができる色補正回路及びこれを用いた画像表示装置を提供することを目的とする。そのために、本発明は、入力された映像信号の輝度情報と、彩度及び色相を含む色度ヒストグラム情報とを検出する検出部(11~14)と、該検出部により検出された前記輝度情報及び前記色度ヒストグラム情報に基づいて、前記映像信号の色再現を制御するための制御部(15,16)と、を備えたことを特徴とする。
