Definitions
- the present disclosure relates to a pressure wall bushing kit according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a pressure wall bushing kit comprising a first device, comprising a first element and a second element.
- the first element comprises a tube section having at least one thread on the outside perimeter of it, and a collar section positioned at one end of the tube section.
- the collar section comprises a sealing element on the side of the collar section that is facing the tube section for sealing an intersection between the collar section and a pressure wall to which the first element is intended to be mounted.
- the second element comprises a through hole and a thread applicable to the at least one thread of the first element.
- the second element is essentially a nut.
- the first device is applicable to a through hole of the said pressure wall by introducing the tube section in the through hole and screwing the second element to the first element from an opposing side of the pressure wall in relation to the collar section of the first element.
- the said first element comprises a thread on the inside perimeter of a through hole.
- the pressure wall bushing kit further comprises a second device.
- the second device is engagable to said first element by means of a thread that engages the thread of the through hole, wherein the second device thus is detachably mounted to said first device.
- the second device can thereby be changed for different uses of the pressure wall bushing kit.
- the advantage of this pressure wall bushing kit is that it allows to be positioned in a pressure wall without any thread being made in the pressure wall itself.
- Another advantage is that it allows for different uses as the second device can be changed to another second device having a different use.
- the solution is flexible. Also it allows for use where the second device needs disposal after a use and thus can be changed to a new second device of the same type or of a different type for a new use.
- the applied sealing is able to prevent water from entering under the collar of the first device.
- the pressure wall is not exposed to any wear during use of the through hole in the pressure wall. The wear is instead diverted to the first device. It is also an advantage to be able to reach into a pressure vessel for example to reach or connect electronics, or switch purposes or for downloading data from a pressure vessel without fully opening it. Also by being able to open up the pressure wall/vessel it is possible to equalize pressure.
- the sealing element of the first device is positioned on the collar section facing the tubular section, preferably such that the first device is operable to prevent water at pressures in a range of 10 3 - 1,2*10 6 kPa from entering intersection between the collar section facing a pressure wall to which the first device is intended to be applied.
- the advantage of this is that the sealing between the collar section and the pressure wall to which it is engaged at mounting, will be more secure.
- the sealing element is positioned such that it engages the outer surface of the wall. Thus it is positioned such that it will not prevent removal of the pressure wall bushing kit, in particular the first element.
- the preferred pressure range for preventing water from entering the intersection between the collar section and the pressure wall allows for use in any underwater condition or dept.
- the first device is operable to prevent water at a pressure in a range of 104- 1,2*106 kPa, preferably 2*104-0,3*105 kPa, more preferably 3*104-105 kPa.
- This provides for a less heavy pressure wall bushing kit that is simpler to manufacture.
- the sealing element can be made less encumbering.
- a pressure wall bushing kit wherein the said second device comprises a collar section intended to face the collar section of the first device, wherein the collar section of the second device comprises a seal element on the collar section , such that when applied to the first device the intersection between the collar section of the first device and the second device is sealed in the same way as the intersection between the first device and the pressure a wall .
- the thread of the second device is positioned on the outside perimeter of the tube section of said second device.
- the second device is a plug with a closed end that coincides with a collar section of the second device.
- a pressure wall bushing kit wherein the second device is a test equipment device that comprises a central through hole that is adapted for attachment of test equipment.
- a pressure wall bushing kit wherein the second device is a cable passage device that comprises a central cable channel for housing a cable, preferably the central cable channel has a first section with a larger inner diameter than the following section such that the first section can accommodate a fully insulated under water cable, and the ensuing section having smaller inner diameter than the first section can only accommodate the bare cable.
- the second device can be filled by resin. Still the cable will be easily demountable if needed by removing the second device despite the resin fill.
- a pressure wall bushing kit is proposed further comprising a third device, that can be attached at the opposite end to the collar of the first device, wherein the third device is an inner connection socket that can be combined with any of the second elements, wherein the third device preferably has an inner thread that applies to the same thread as the second element.
- the advantage of the third device is that depending on the function of the second device an inner connection socket can be attached that can cooperate with the second device, in a fixed manner.
- a pressure wall bushing kit wherein the first element is provided with a step on the side of the collar that is intended to face a pressure wall, said step being provided as a thicker central section of the collar, such that it safe guards that the thicker part engages the pressure wall first at all moments of an introduction of the first element into a through hole the pressure wall.
- the advantage of the step is that the engagement is firm between the first element and the pressure wall. Further expansion is allowed by the sealing element on the collar of the first element, such that a particularly efficient seal is achieved.
- a pressure wall bushing kit wherein the second device is provided with a step on the side of the second device collar that is intended to face the collar of the first element, said step being provided as a thicker central section of the collar, such that it safe guards that the thicker part engages the collar of the first element first at all moments when mounted to the first element.
- the advantage of the step is that the engagement is firm between the first element and the pressure wall. Further expansion is allowed by the sealing element on the collar of the first element, such that a particularly efficient seal is achieved.
- a pressure wall bushing kit is wherein the sealing element of the first device comprises at least one O-ring.
- the advantage of this is that a seal can be achieved easily with a standard seal element.
- the O-ring is chosen according to the desired level of pressure resistance.

- the first element 1' comprises a through hole 19 that runs from one end 14 to the other end 17.
- a sealing element 12 is provided on the collar section 10.
- the sealing element is preferably an O-ring that is positioned in an O-ring track. But the O-ring is not mandatory other sealing elements are thinkable.
- the sealing element 12 prevents pressurised water between the intersection of the collar section 10 and a pressure wall 70.
- the sealing element 10 is preferably ring shaped and extends around the collar section 10 at an even distance to the centre line 7 of the first element 1'.

- thermometer a GPS receiver or the like.
- a second device 5 according to figure 6 is also disclosed.
- This device is a cable passage device 5.
- a central cable channel 56 is comprised in the cable passage device 5.
- a cable is intended to be introduced through the central cable channel 53.
- a first section 56 that has larger diameter than a following ensuing section 54.

- the ensuing, middle section 54 has a smaller diameter such that it can only accommodate the bare cable. Adaptation of the respective diameter is of course needed depending on which cable is to be used.
- the cable passage device 5 can be filled with a resin in order to stabilize and water proofing the central cable channel 53. As the cable passage device 5 can be detached from the first device 1, the resin fil will not prevent a new cable to be introduced by means of a new cable passage device 5.
