Absolutely no data can be retreived, the application exits early. I have not changed anything on my system, but port.hu made some changes on their site recently.
Using Windows 7 64-bit Hungarian and latest xmltv stable.
Please note that the latest CVS nighly builds also fail since 2016. 11. 04. See http://www.crustynet.org.uk/~xmltv-tester/squeeze/nightly/

Same problem on my system.
Old versions won't work anymore because of new JSON-based design.
This patch may helps. Sorry it wasn't fully tested.
Can you compile a Windows executable? I'm on Windows and have neither the environment nor the experience to compile myself.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with compilation under Windows, and I found only an about 10 years old howto:
http://xmltv.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xmltv/xmltv/doc/exe_build.html
(The second patch fixes some errors of the json patch.)
Dear nz220!
Please help me, how can i install this patch my tv_grab_huro script?
I use debian OS and xmltv ver 0.5.63-2.
Thank you answer !
This method is useful as a hotfix in the case you are using Debian's stable xmltv package:
wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/xmltv/files/xmltv/0.5.68/xmltv-0.5.68.tar.bz2
tar xjf xmltv-0.5.68.tar.bz2 "./xmltv-0.5.68/grab/huro/tv_grab_huro.in"
patch -p0 ./xmltv-0.5.68/grab/huro/tv_grab_huro.in /path_of_the_file/tv_grab_huro_json.patch
patch -p0 ./xmltv-0.5.68/grab/huro/tv_grab_huro.in /path_of_the_file/tv_grab_huro_json_ro.patch
patch -p0 ./xmltv-0.5.68/grab/huro/tv_grab_huro.in /path_of_the_file/tv_grab_huro_json_ro2.patch
sudo cp -p /usr/bin/tv_grab_huro /usr/bin/tv_grab_huro.orig
sudo cp ./xmltv-0.5.68/grab/huro/tv_grab_huro.in /usr/bin/
(If you don't have sudo installed, login as root for copying files in /usr/bin.)
This third patch fixes date handling and inserts age limits and categories from port.ro, that's currently closed (Anyone knows why?).
This solution is work!
Thank you your help!
You're welcome.
Do you know how to ask the alpha-team to create an alpha exe out of this patch for us?
No. I don't have any connection to them or the other developers of the project.
Post a request on the xmltv-devel mailing list and the relevant people will see it
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/xmltv-devel
Thanks. I sent a mail to the list.
Not sure if alpha exe dated 15.01.2017 is supposed to contain this fix - but it does not work.
Patches applied... will be in tonight's release
