"Adobe Illustrator: Easy to use and time-saving, ideal for digital marketing"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

I use Adobe Illustrator as part of my work in digital marketing for creating images for social media campaigns or ads, and I like how easily someone who didn't study graphic design can interact with the tool.

I mainly appreciate the ease with which I can edit or work with stock materials developed to be edited in Illustrator, as it allows me to save a lot of time weekly and dedicate more space to other types of activities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

There really isn't anything I can say that I dislike, since despite using the tool almost daily, there are many functions I don't know and don't use at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A must-have for graphic designers and animators"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

Adobe Illustrator is the industry-standard for a reason. I like how the interface is customisable to each user's unique needs; you can change the layout of the panels, and the groupings of different tools, so the tools that you use most are easily accessible. I also like how it integrates with Adobe Stock and Adobe Colour, so I can access my download library and colour palettes straight from the Illustrator platform. Illustrator also allows you to share files so others can edit it, although multiple people can't work on the same file at once.

I use Illustrator daily, and have been a user for almost 4 years. Overall, Adobe keep up with the needs of users well, introducing new features and updating the software often. Illustrator also has a 'Learn' section with many different tutorials. I recommend watching these so you can get used to where all of the tools are, and what the capabillities of the platform are. What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

I dislike that there are numerous seemingly basic features that Illustrator does not have, such as the ability to set the stroke to the outside of text rather than to the inside, and to add a gradient to editable text (technically both of these are doable, but the process is not straightforward). Platforms like Canva and Picsart have these features, so it's strange that Illustrator doesn't.

Also, you can't raster edit - you'll need to switch to Photoshop to do this. Simultaneously running Photoshop and Illustrator can be a disaster for a laptop/computer that isn't very powerful. Also, it's strange that you can copy a vector object from Illustrator into Photoshop, but you can't copy anything (text, image) from Photoshop into Illustrator.

While you can share a file with other users to edit, multiple users can't have the same file open at once, so you can't collaborate with others in real-time.

As a self-taught designer, I encountered a steep learning curve while learning how to use the platform. Thankfully, there are a plethora of support articles and tutorial videos online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Endless possibilities with precise control"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

What I like most is that it has practically endless options for designing, almost anything you can imagine in digital design is possible. I especially love how precise it is, and how you can work in multiple formats with so many export options. It really gives me complete control over every detail. What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

Sometimes it feels heavy on my computer, especially with big projects full of layers. Certain advanced tools have a learning curve, and some shortcuts aren’t intuitive at first. Undoing specific actions can be a bit slower than I’d like, but it’s something you get used to over time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Illustrator remains a core tool in my creative arsenal"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

Illustrator has become second nature to me over the years. It's not exactly my daily driver like Photoshop but almost always plays sidecar to it every other day. I’ve relied on it for a wide range of projects, from designing logos and print layouts to creating scalable graphics. Its precision is impressive, and once you’re familiar with the tools, you can easily produce scalable graphics suitable for any print or digital application. It also integrates smoothly with the rest of Adobe’s suite, making it simple to transfer files between programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

Illustrator is beginning to seem somewhat outdated, especially when compared to other Adobe tools like Photoshop, which now feature Firefly and integrated AI. While Illustrator still serves an important purpose, its recent updates haven’t been particularly exciting. One of the most frustrating aspects is dealing with stock AI files—older files, in particular, don’t always render properly, which can be quite annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and crative tool, even for occasional users"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

Even though I use Illustrator only rarely, I really enjoy the experience. The interface feels intuitive and playful, which makes learning easier. I like the wide range of creative tools that allow me to experiment and try new things. It gives me the feeling that, with more practice, I can unlock a lot of creative potential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

Since I am still learning, some features feel overwhelming at first and the learning curve can be steep. It takes time to get comfortable with all the options, and AI-powered tools are still something I am exploring. For a beginner or rare user, it can sometimes feel like too much, but I see this more as a challenge than a drawback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best tool for graphic designers"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

It's very easy to use and I really like that it has a lot of different tools to make different kinds of designs. It helps me to make a lot of posts for social media posts or printing materials. My job is about making posts for a lot of schools in México, I use it everyday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

The Artificial Intelligence tools are not the best for me. Sometimes de IA color tools are not precisely what I wanted and the IA vector creator is a total failure, I don't understand how to use it properly. Its hard to get the vector wanted and it's so much easier to look for them in websites likes Freepik. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Adobe Illustrator is the industry standard for vector graphics, so you can share and collaborate easily. It has professional features for print at large scale and precision. Due to is significant user base, you will always be able to find tutorials, hints and tips on use. It integrates seamlessly with other Adobe products and can share Libraries, usefl when working in brands with guidelines.

Exporting quickly to PDF means the abilty to share with people without the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

The cost is high for a subscription for a software that has few fundamental changes. Feature changes are slow, and there can be glitches from time to time that can take a while to be fixed. Integration with Pantone colours costing extra is frustrating if they're used in your line of work, having to cross reference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile Design Software For Any Creative Project"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

Illustrator provides many options to learn new tools with its tutorials included in the app. They are very interactive, and encourages exploration of how to use and understand the settings for a wide variety of things. There is a breadth of options to apply to almost any sort of project out there, and it does work for many. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

What I dislike about the software is its generative AI analytics. It has an option to opt-in to help with develop its training models, however it should perhaps start expanding options on having the user decide if they want to improve their work themselves. I also think the interface on illustrator could improve when making new graphics or illustrations with customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Long term user of Adobe Illustrator!"
What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?

What I like best about Adobe Illustrator is its precision and versatility when it comes to creating scalable, detailed floor plans, mood boards, and custom design elements. The ability to work with vector graphics ensures that my designs remain crisp and high-quality at any size, which is crucial for client presentations and printed materials. I also appreciate the seamless integration with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps, making it easy to import textures, patterns, and palettes that reflect my interior design vision. Illustrator empowers me to communicate ideas clearly and creatively, from initial concepts to final renderings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?

What I dislike about Adobe Illustrator is its steep learning curve and the occasional complexity of performing what should be simple tasks. While it's a powerful tool, certain features, like working with artboards or manipulating layers, can feel unintuitive, especially when juggling multiple components in a design presentation. Additionally, it’s resource-intensive and can lag on larger files, which is frustrating during tight deadlines. I also wish there were more interior design-specific templates or tools built in, as much of the setup still feels tailored to graphic designers rather than spatial or environmental design professionals.
