"DX Delivers Powerful Insights and Excellent Support, with Room for Improved Data Navigation"
What do you like best about DX?

DX is an amazing product; it provides deep insights into the productivity and performance of our engineering teams right out of the box. And has also served as a platform to help drive several efficiency initiatives. It's easy to use and was very simple to get up and running. The customer support has been phenomenal, both the account and engineering teams have been very engaged with us throughout. We often use DX metrics reviews in our management meetings and within teams as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

While SQL support is available; I would love to see even more native tooling to help with navigating data easier. Would like the ability to unlock even more value by enabling quick/easy access regardless of skill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent support and actionable engineering insights"
What do you like best about DX?

What I like most about DX is how quickly we were able to get value from it - it was up and running within weeks and gave us immediate visibility across our engineering teams. During our POC, we saw a 100% survey response rate, the highest we’ve ever seen. I also appreciate how it blends DORA metrics with real-time feedback to provide a complete view of developer experience. The built-in industry benchmarks help us understand where we stand relative to peers, and the proactive alerts with recommendations are a valuable bonus. We also had an excellent experience with the DX team - our customer success manager, account manager, and program manager were all incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the setup. What do you dislike about DX?

While DX offers custom reporting, there’s a bit of a learning curve to fully tailor it to different stakeholder needs. As we’re still early in our adoption, we’re also building up historical data, so long-term trends will take time to develop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transformative insights and tooling for modern engineering teams"
What do you like best about DX?

DX has been incredibly easy to use and integrate into our existing workflows. Their support team is consistently responsive and proactive, and the pace at which they ship meaningful improvements is impressive. Beyond the product itself, what really sets DX apart is their thought leadership in developer experience and productivity. The content, research, and frameworks they share have been hugely valuable in shaping how we approach developer experience at Paddle, and in my own understanding of what good looks like in this space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

There’s not much to dislike. The only limitation we’ve hit is that the Linear integration isn’t yet as full-featured as the JIRA one, but I know it’s something they’re actively improving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good tool and insights around developer productivity"
What do you like best about DX?

DX snapshots (surveys) and benchmarking data, even during the free trial, gave us (Eng leadership) valuable information about how our team was doing and what to focus on. We also really like the insight into GitHub activity at the team and individual and aggregate level, helping us keep an eye on what bottlenecks we may have from engineer performance (useful for eng directors and managers) to engineering productivity (how we can elevate entire department productivity). We also like the transparency and flexibility with the SQL-backed data studio. I like how they have tried to design this as a transparent tool at all levels from ICs to managers to upper eng leadership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

Compared to some competitors I checked out, the integration & onboarding of DX was less streamlined and more time consuming. For example getting all the teams/users data into the system and authorizing everything on GitHub was a too-many-step process vs. nearly 1-click like some others. I think they should improve this, but if you can get past the set up it's a powerful platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"DX is the best balance of signal, actionability, and cultural fit I’ve used."
What do you like best about DX?

We’ve been using DX for two quarters now. I’ve used different platforms in the past.

DX’s “Core 4” framework provided a consistent way for leadership, EMs, and developers to discuss velocity, quality, and flow. The built-in benchmarks were an eye-opener, especially around code-review turnaround. Showing what “good” looks like and where we could realistically get to has been fantastic.

DX helps us use the quarterly/periodic surveys and organizational snapshots to spot the big trends, then track improvement metrics (like time-to-first MR review) weekly to move the needle. That split (diagnostic vs. improvement) has already made change management much easier.

Another example/feature that DX provides is the Work Log report, which clarified why collaboration spiked at the end of sprints across all our 10+ teams, and the Interactions view helped us pair people more effectively and remove review bottlenecks. Simple nudges (e.g., Slack pings for MR review thresholds) came straight from DX insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

The benchmarks are helpful, though I’d love even finer segmentation (e.g., by company stage, team size, domain, or language/runtime) to make comparisons feel more tailored.

Noting that this would happen with any other platform, but the first month of having DX benefits from a short “metrics 101” to align on definitions (diagnostic vs. improvement, how to read benchmarks, etc). That’s even before you have your first snapshot. DX provides the data, but you’ll still want a light internal primer so teams interpret it the same way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best choices we made"
What do you like best about DX?

The insights provided after taking the snapshots are both valuable and actionable. I found the information to be very helpful in running the operations of my development group. It helps tremendously to improve the sentiment of the people and improve our ways of working. Last but not least is that the response rate is always very high (100% or slightly below) - this can only be because our techies appreciate the tool and purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

Setting up and integrating all systems to ensure data flows in properly is essential. In addition to our own work, we also depended on consultancy from DX, which, by the way, was excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gauging Team Focus Has Never Been Easier"
What do you like best about DX?

DX gives us a clear, objective view of where engineering effort is going — without asking engineers to do anything extra. It passively analyzes our GitHub activity and ties it back to initiatives and themes, making it easy to see if we’re actually focused on what we say we care about. The clarity it brings into sprint alignment, roadmap execution, and engineering prioritization is genuinely impressive. Also, the Slack summaries are a great touch — they surface insights without needing to log into another tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

DX can sometimes feel like a black box. While the insights are valuable, it’s not always obvious how certain metrics are calculated or why some themes show spikes or drops. A bit more transparency or the ability to drill down further into specific data points would make it even more actionable. Also, for smaller teams, some of the insights can feel a bit too high-level or generic unless you spend time fine-tuning the configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent service for gaining insights over engineering productivity"
What do you like best about DX?

The myriad of data points, both quantitative and qualitative, as well as Core 4 helps us ground our decisions and measure impact.

In our Tech department, we've stopped having to always investigate process issues & engineering bottlenecks and can act with confidence with the help of DX, promoting improvements on a team and organization level.

Engineers now have access to DX data and can voice their opinions in qualitative surveys.

Rolling out DX was a breeze, given the integrations they have with many service providers.

The CX team at DX is excellent, and they are always there to support you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

The pricing is a hard sell for younger companies and is only disclosed on a case-by-case basis, given it typically competes budget-wise with other developer tooling deemed more critical - such as AI coding-assistants, internal developer portals, CI/CD tooling, Security, and Cloud - I see this as a friction point.

Additionally, some sought-after features are at times packaged as "a new offering" and require additional spend, which, in my view, is not really good practice for loyal customers in terms of improving the benefit of what they've acquired over time. Other pay-per-seat services, such as Github follow a different philosophy.

That said, the base offering is always improving, and I'm impressed by both the quality and agility of the team.

Considering that the impact from the tool depends a lot on managers & team leads to understand the DX philosophy, it is important to factor in your current organizational maturity state. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

There’s honestly not much to dislike. A few improvements we had in mind have already been implemented after our feedback.

Also, since GetDx is so flexible, it sometimes takes a bit of initial setup to decide which dashboards or metrics to prioritize, but once that’s done, the value is clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Game changer - GetDX improved my performance as a leader"
What do you like best about DX?

GetDX frees my mind to focus on business impact. Before implementing it, we conducted many surveys to identify pain points. We used to spend a lot of time discussing which KPIs were best and how to translate the work done into team performance.

Now, we can trust that we have a company focused on improving our performance by providing data and insights while we build a sustainable environment.

The feature I like most is the correlation between quantitative and qualitative data. There is no single way to measure performance, and this comprehensive overview is what I find most valuable.

All the integrations are easy to set up, and every time we’ve had an issue, the support team has been quick to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DX?

The onboarding process requires careful attention to your specific use case. You need to check whether your way of working is compatible with the available data — and that will only become clear once you start implementing the integrations.

It supports most use cases, but there are some metrics we can’t use because our code is deployed in multiple markets. As a result, we can’t fully trust the deployment-related data. This also means we miss out on other features that help us understand team performance.

Another important point is that changes are sometimes made in the production environment without notice. We experienced some negative impact when certain features started to work differently and our reports needed updates. At the same time, this has a positive side, as many new features are released frequently, with the company delivering improvements every week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
