"FastSpring WAS The King of e-Commerce, Not So Much Now..."
What do you like best about FastSpring?

I liked the fact that FastSpring only requires a percentage cut of sales and not an additional service fee, but as of 2023 that has now changed. They now required a $150 "Risk Assement Fee." And if you fail to pay it, your store will be shut down and all pending payments will be held for "90 days."

I also loved the complete control of order fulfillment. My previous e-Commerce platform allowed for zero customization of the order completion email. FastSpring however, allows for customization of the text only email as well as the HTML version and even Web page order completion so that the customer doesn't even have to go to their email. They can complete an order and download their order in the same window! Sad that the e-Commerce platform I'm switching to now will not have this.

They also fully cover VAT tax collection. Once again, my previous e-Commerce platform didn't cover VAT at all and they even assured me that VAT only mattered to sellers in the EU not buyers. This is incorrect. EU laws require e-Commerce sellers to charge VAT Tax on purchases of electronically delivered products for buyers based in the European Union. In the EU law before 2015, VAT was based on the location of the business, but it is now based on the location of the customer. So the fact that FastSpring abides with EU laws is great! And I have had many EU based happy customers thanks to FastSpring's VAT coverage!

And how can I forget? Unlimited storage! Unlimited storage meaning that you can host as many files total on your store. So you could have a store with 10TB of files total. Individual product file size limits are 5TB however. But I will never use that much myself.

Lastly, the ability to see your customer's IP address and how many times they have downloaded your product is an amazing feature! This helps me in particular when a customer tries to lie and say they never received or downloaded their order and they ask for a refund. FastSpring allows me to see how many times they've downloaded. On my previous e-Commerce platform, this was not possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FastSpring?

The sudden addition of a mandatory "Risk Assessment Fee." We are to pay by 29th or they threaten to shut down our store and keep all earnings for 90 days. Their notice of this fee was also short notice. In addition to this, they are now using AI as the judge of whether or not we can continue to use FastSpring even after we pay the $150 fee. The AI can improperly process your documents and the human support team will not help you. So not only will your store possibly be shut down despite having the proper documentation, but the support team will not help you leaving you at the mercy of the AI. What do you like best about FastSpring?

I am selling products online for many years. I used 2-3 payment processors but I faced many troubles. One of my friends told me about FastSpring and now I can say that my decision was right. What do you like best about FastSpring?

What I like best about FastSpring is how they have simplified the complexity of ecommerce for businesses who only want to know their own business and want to sell online. They have knowledgeable and helpful account managers and support staff and an outstanding team of designers/developers based on the quality and ease of use of the FastSpring platform. FastSpring is reactive to customer needs and regularly updates the platform to meet customer and legal requirements with minimal disruption to their users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FastSpring?

What do you like best about FastSpring?

We are selling our software online through the store that FastSpring provides. We love the platform and the solution. But the dashboard usability could definitely use some improvements. It's getting there but slower than we'd all want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FastSpring?

The UI of the their new dashboard. Maybe it's because we're used to the classic dashboard (which is still available) but they did move all of the options to the new dashboard that were available previously. This made our transition into the new dashboard very long and confusing. There are still some tasks that make me use both dashboard to get it done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about FastSpring?

First and foremost is the new and improved interface. It is also convenient that we can select a large number of currencies for payments and our clients are comfortable paying in local currencies rather than dollars. What do you dislike about FastSpring?

Sometimes problems arise when searching for a payment "by the last four digits of a bank card". It takes a very long time to load and often gives an error when searching. What do you like best about FastSpring?

The fact that the complexity of having to deal with multiple sales tax issues across worldwide sales is completely removed when using FastSpring is a significant advantage in itself, but there are many other benefits including, but not limited to the following;

The online help is excellent with clear guides showing how to implement any required scenario. For the few times that I have needed to contact technical support their knowledge, and response times, have been first-rate.

The flexible integration options between the product site and FastSpring. For example if a customer is logged into the product site when clicking on a purchase link, information can be passed to FastSpring and this information can be used during the license generation process when a purchase is made.

Numerous software licensing fulfillment options.

New products are simple to set up by duplicating an existing product with options to change product specific attributes.

When customers (usually sales tax exempt entities) have had questions about sales tax I have directed them to FastSpring customer support, and the feedback from those customers was that FastSpring’s response was excellent.

The ability to generate a custom quotation for a customer and then simply send the link to the customer so they can complete the purchase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about FastSpring?

I like the pricing and security of FastSpring. They have been on the market for a long time. We've worked with them for 8 years now. And selling our apps and bundles has been very easy and secure with FastSpring's payment checkout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FastSpring?

We dislike the outdated features in the dashboard. There are a custom exports that we are interested in doing at the end of the month. But the dashboard which FastSpring has is a little bit outdated. Event hough they call it "new dashboard" – many export features that other competitors have, FastSpring doesn't have it.

Another thing we'd like to have FastSpring approved – Affiliates. They are using Impact Radius as their affiliate service provider. But we'd like to have it all in one system to avoid any confusion. We want FastSpring to just handle all of our affiliates, split pays, etc.. And they somehow do this, but it's going through another company (ImpactRadius) which doesn't seem necessary to us. What do you like best about FastSpring?

I love the strength of this e-commerce tool; since we started using it, it has never given us problems; on the contrary, it has been a solution to many. It allows us to enjoy fantastic ease to sell online our electronic products; the processing of the sale is more comfortable for everyone.
