"Easy and clear people allocation management"
What do you like best about Float?

We originally used Excel spreadsheets for maintaining people-project allocations, perhaps similarly to other businesses. A specialised tool offers many benefits, such as notifications, different access levels based on the role, auditing and history, and much better data quality. We have integrated the data with our timesheeting in ServiceNow, and this allows very quick insights for team leaders into whether their team members are working according to the expectations.

I use Float weekly and can normally find the information I need very promptly and without much effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

Coming from ServiceNow, which has powerful data filtering possibilities, I find this a little lacking in Float. For example, having a list of colleagues who have available capacity in a given month I find a little challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, accelerates resource planning"
What do you like best about Float?

Simple, clean, bold UI which is super easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

Lack of a 'global amend' - has the functionality for repeat bookings and to link scheduling - ability to select / amend all bookings for one person would be a game-changer for me! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Makes resourcing a breeze"
What do you like best about Float?

Float is highly user-friendly, making it a top choice for teams needing efficient scheduling. Its intuitive interface allows users to easily navigate through project timelines, assign tasks, and adjust schedules with drag-and-drop functionality. The visual layout provides a clear overview of team availability and workload, reducing the complexity of resource management. Additionally, Float integrates seamlessly with other tools, and its real-time updates ensure everyone stays on the same page. The simplicity of setting up and modifying schedules, coupled with its responsive design, makes it accessible and efficient for both small teams and larger organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

One downside of using Float is that its notifications are not instant, which can be frustrating when quick updates are needed. In a fast-paced work environment, timely notifications are crucial to ensure that everyone stays aligned with the latest changes or new task assignments. The delay in receiving these notifications can lead to missed updates, confusion, or even scheduling conflicts. While Float excels in many areas, the lag in notification delivery can be a significant drawback, especially for teams that rely on real-time communication to keep projects on track. "Very handy piece of scheduling software, great for people with busy calendars"
What do you like best about Float?

As someone who works flexible hours, I find Float incredibly helpful to schedule. I use it every day to schedule my ever-varying calendar and it's very easy to allocate timings to the projects I'm working on, which can be compared well with the rest of the team's calendar too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

There is unfortuantely no feature to input exact times into Float and only lengths of time, so I have to use the "notes" feature to add exact times, which can be a bit annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Float is very practical"
What do you like best about Float?

For me, Float is very useful and helps me stay organized. For some tasks, it has already replaced my notebook and pen.

Not to mention the ease of linking with Jira and Google Calendar, which makes everything so convenient. The implementation is simple, and I didn’t even know that was possible until I discovered Float. Seriously, I like it a lot.

Due to frequently using Float, I needed customer support because Float was not supporting translation via the browser and was causing some conflicts. I was pleasantly surprised by the support provided by the Float team. They were quick and gave me an incredibly simple solution that worked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

What I dislike about Float is the duplication of only some Google Calendar events in the LOG tab; in the Schedule tab, everything is normal. I’m checking what might be causing this. Also, the lack of multiple languages is inconvenient for people who don’t speak a second language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exactly what I needed"
What do you like best about Float?

I was looking for something more advanced than my DIY project management spreadsheet but without the high cost of a big-business solution - as a sole trader/freelancer I just wanted to be able to manage my workload day-by-day, with flexibility to move things around where needed - add in my days off, customise my hours and most importantly - keep on top of my work! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

I wasn't looking for an overly complicated software so I really like the simplicity of Float but I'm sure over time some additional features wouldn't hurt - like different views - but I've only been using it for a couple of weeks so I may not have discovered all it has to offer yet! "Efficient Resource Planning Made Easy"
What do you like best about Float?

Float has been an exceptional tool for our organization's resource planning. Its user-friendly interface makes scheduling very easy, and the drag-and-drop feature simplifies adjustments, saving us a lot of time. We use it daily to view resource availability in real-time and this allows us to allocate our team effectively, ensuring no one is overbooked. The integration with Outlook in our example has also streamlined our workflow, making Float a central hub for all our planning needs. The customer support is responsive and helpful whenever we've had questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

While Float has been largely beneficial, one area that could improve is the reporting functionality. It would be great to have more advanced reporting options directly within Float, particularly for tracking long-term trends in resource utilization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great visual timekeeping system"
What do you like best about Float?

I like that all the inputs are adjustable, so I can add the correct categories for each day, then slide them to the correct length, since I don't have a super clear timetable of how much time I spent on each activity. I also like that it is a very visual way of keeping track of what I've done vs. writing a list in a spreadsheet or something like that. If my manager gave me assignments for what to do with my time, I think Float would be a very effective way to communicate that too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

I dislike that it's quite easy to accidentally log all your hours for the week in a future week, and it is impossible to just move all those times to the previous week. This has happened multiple times in the 4 months I've been a float user, and I have to screenshot what I said and then recreate it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Float has revolutionized our agency resource management workflow"
What do you like best about Float?

After researching many different options, Float quickly became our top choice and has been an incredible addition to our agency's operational platforms. The simplicity of use and the focus on resource management and team bandwidth was exacrtly what we needed in order to streamline how we were utilizing our resources across every account and department. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float?

The only downside which is not a significant issue is that our customer success rep was located in a completely opposite time zone then where we are, so finding time to meet to discuss questions wasn't as easy as I would have preferred considering we were enterprise customers.
