"Decent Company"
What do you like best about Gusto?

User-Friendly Interface

Gusto is known for its clean, intuitive design. Payroll, benefits, and onboarding are streamlined so that even people without HR experience can manage them confidently.

All-in-One HR Platform

It handles payroll, benefits, hiring, onboarding, time tracking, and compliance in one place—reducing the need for multiple systems.

Automated Payroll & Taxes

Gusto automates federal, state, and local tax filings, which is a huge time-saver and helps reduce human error.

Employee Self-Service

Employees can log in to manage their own pay stubs, benefits, W-2s, and more—reducing back-and-forth with HR.

Great Customer Support

Their support team is often praised for being helpful and knowledgeable, particularly for smaller teams that don't have dedicated HR staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

1. Limited Customization

What’s the issue? Gusto offers a streamlined experience, but that can mean fewer options for customizing workflows, reports, or permissions.

Who it affects most: Companies with complex or unique HR/payroll needs.

2. Higher Cost at Scale

What’s the issue? Gusto is affordable for small teams, but as headcount grows, the per-employee, per-month pricing can add up quickly.

Who it affects most: Growing businesses or large teams looking for cost-efficient scalability.

3. Benefits Support Isn’t Nationwide

What’s the issue? Gusto’s health benefits are not available in every U.S. state (though this has improved over time).

Who it affects most: Teams with employees across multiple or less populous states.

4. Limited International Support

What’s the issue? Gusto is mainly U.S.-focused. It doesn’t handle international payroll well (or at all).

Who it affects most: Remote/distributed teams with global employees or contractors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"This software is extremely easy to navigate and is truly the easiest part of my day to day work."
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like using Gusto because it makes payroll and time off so much easier to manage. Everything is online, which saves me time and cuts down on mistakes. I don’t have to worry about tax filings or compliance since Gusto handles that automatically. My employees also appreciate having their own portal where they can see pay stubs, request time off, and manage their benefits. For me, the biggest upside is how user-friendly it is—it keeps everything organized in one place and takes the stress out of payroll. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

While I find Gusto really helpful overall, there are a few things that could be better. Sometimes the reporting features feel a little limited, and I wish I could customize them more easily to fit my needs. The customer support is usually good, but there have been times when it took longer than I’d like to get an answer. Also, the pricing can add up as you bring on more employees, so it’s something to keep in mind for growing businesses. None of these are dealbreakers, but they’re the areas I’ve noticed that could use improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for non-profits"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I have multiple pay rates and multiple job titles in our non-profit, and Gusto makes it easy for me to track hours for all of those things. This is a huge help both when filing our 990 (separating between M&G, fundraising, etc. costs) and when tracking restricted income from grants. Additionally, I am an employee or contractor for multiple companies that use Gusto and having all of my information on one site and being able to switch between companies is a huge help as an employee. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

For a long time, it was impossible to identify my own "main employer," so I was having to switch companies daily. This has now been updated, which is huge, but I do sometimes think the overall navigation between pages takes longer than other sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gusto just makes sense"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I love the debit card that is offered, and getting paid early! I also love the learning hub where I can watch informational videos. Time off requests are a breeze with Gusto. Navigating around is very simple -- the system is extremely user friendly and I have had no issues. I use Gusto every day, multiple times a day, and I like that I can also use the mobile application if I'd like. Gusto is easy to use. It is simple and quick to learn how to use. Everything is integrated in one spot when you log in to Gusto. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Getting set up first - my permissions were not all turned on for my time off requests. Although, Gusto support had it fixed very quickly!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"So far, so great!"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I genuinely love how simple and straightforward it is, and the fact it handles multiple things (time off, payroll etc) is great, as previous positions I've held at other employers seemed to use a different program for each individual function, which was honestly super inconvenient and time consuming to use. Everything blends seamlessly, works fast, and I have yet to have it get laggy or crash. There was an issue upon starting this job, where I wasn't able to create an account with my work email and had to use my personal email, but when I did have to contact Customer Service, they were extremely helpful and got the job done quickly and efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I will gladly leave another review if or when I stumble upon something that I dislike, because I have nothing yet! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"5 Stars – Gusto Has Transformed How I Manage My Team!"
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto has completely changed the way I handle team scheduling — in the best possible way. It’s made the entire process of building and managing schedules smooth, efficient, and stress-free.

One of the standout features for me is how easy it is to track sick hours and PTO. No more guessing or back-and-forth with employees — it’s all clearly logged and accessible. I also really appreciate how flexible the scheduling system is. If I need to make changes mid-week, Gusto lets me update the schedule in real time and it syncs immediately, keeping everyone on the same page.

It’s also incredibly simple to find your schedule in the app. Whether you're a manager or team member, you can see exactly when and where you're working. No more confusion or missed shifts!

Beyond scheduling, the interface is super user-friendly, clean, and intuitive. I love how everything is centralized — payroll, time-off requests, employee profiles, and more. It saves me hours every week and takes the stress out of team management.

Gusto has made it easier to communicate with my team, stay organized, and ensure everyone knows what's going on. It’s reliable, clear, and just works — which is exactly what you want in a tool like this.

If you're looking for an all-in-one solution to handle team scheduling, PTO tracking, and employee management, I highly recommend Gusto. It’s seriously a game-changer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I do like that you can download a PDF of the schedule for printing if you have full permissions — that’s super useful for posting a physical copy. However, with limited permissions, I’ve found that you can’t print it full-page, which makes it harder to read or use as a reference. It’s not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind depending on your role. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Best App for Payroll and Everyday Banking Needs"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I’ve been using Gusto for payroll and my debit card/account, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The app was easy to download and set up, and I use it almost every day to stay on top of my finances. It’s incredibly user-friendly and makes managing everything so much easier. I love how simple and quick it is to navigate, yet it still gives me access to all the detailed information I need in one place.

One of my favorite features is the ability to request an advance from my upcoming paycheck once I’ve accrued enough hours—it’s been a huge help when unexpected expenses come up. The layout is clean and intuitive, so I can easily track deposits, balances, and transactions without any hassle. Another huge plus is how seamlessly it integrates with payroll, making the entire process smooth from start to finish.

Customer support has also been excellent—any time I’ve had a question, they’ve been responsive, helpful, and easy to reach.

Overall, Gusto has made handling my payroll and daily banking stress-free and convenient. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, straightforward, and well-integrated banking app with smart features that actually make a difference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

The only downside is that, since Gusto isn’t a traditional full-service bank, it doesn’t offer some features you’d find elsewhere (like physical branches or certain types of transfers). That said, for my day-to-day banking and payroll needs, it’s been more than enough, and the convenience far outweighs that limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy time-tracking and benefit dashboard"
What do you like best about Gusto?

As an employee, I find Gusto easy to use for tracking daily hours, planning time off, and budgeting. Correcting mistakes is straightforward, and the user interface is intuitive. I appreciate the document sections for quickly reviewing my agreements and expectations. I also like the option to split my paycheck, which allows part of it to be deposited elsewhere - this feature helps me save and invest more easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

It is limiting not to be able to edit future hours. My role at the company requires that I input time for holidays, but in order to do so, I have to remember to add the hours after the date has passed and hope that I've recorded them before the pay cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gusto offers a simple, intuitive, and accessible system."
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto’s platform is incredibly easy to use and keeps everything I need in one place. It is made thinking of each user. I use it frequently and love how quickly I can access my pay stubs, tax documents, and benefits without any hassle. It saves me time and gives me peace of mind knowing my information is always organized and accessible. Whenever I have questions, Gusto’s customer support is quick, attentive, and very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

There’s very little I dislike about Gusto. Occasionally, I wish there were a way to search my transactions by keywords, as that would make tracking even easier. Overall, the platform runs smoothly and meets my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Using this for my 3rd year, Gusto never fails to provide precise calculations and on time paychecks!"
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto makes payroll incredibly simple and reliable. Everything from calculating wages to handling taxes is automated and accurate, which saves me a ton of time. The interface is clean, easy to use, and I never have to second-guess whether my team will be paid correctly or on time. I also like the extra HR tools that come included. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Sometimes there are delays in customer service on really busy days but despite that they work hard to try and reach everyone and solve their problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
