"Entry level SAP - plenty of features, but not a great fit for our industry."
What do you like best about SAP Business One?

Having previously been exposed to S4 Hanna, SAP B1 has a similar user interface and platform without the need for T-Codes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business One?

Our business is structured with multiple entities and the need for good internal controls. Unfortunately we were told that SAP B1 does not allow for unique legal entities to be set up in a parent/child relationship within the system and instead have to be set up as distinct databases you have to log in and out of. This make intercompany accounting extremely difficult as well consolidated financial reporting, which we've had to use a separate system to compile basic reporting for. Another key feature that we've struggled with has been the inability to restrict JE posting to distinct users. This is a basic internal control any accounting/finance group will require. "SAP Business One: Flexible, Intuitive ERP for Growing International Businesses"
What do you like best about SAP Business One?

SAP Business One brings together finance, inventory, sales, CRM, purchasing, and production in a single system. This flexibility lets companies adapt the system to their exact workflows without major redevelopment. SAP B1 supports multi-currency, multi-language, and multi-legislation operations, so it fits companies that grow internationally but still need local tax and reporting compliance. Compared with older ERP systems, SAP B1 has a relatively intuitive UI and can be configured to show just what each user role needs, improving adoption. All departments (finance, sales, inventory, production, service) share one real-time data source — eliminating redundant data entry and version conflicts. SAP B1 lets you automate approvals, document generation, and alerts — helping ensure business rules are followed consistently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business One?

Over-customization can make upgrades difficult or break existing functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best for Start-Ups"
What do you like best about SAP Business One?

One of the best things about SAP Business One is that it brings all important business functions into one single system. Whether it is accounting, sales, inventory, purchase, or customer data – everything is in one place. This helps reduce confusion and saves a lot of time.

Also, the reports and dashboards are very helpful for taking business decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business One?

Not much, it was difficult to get adjusted to the user-interface in the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use and Understand Interface"
What do you like best about SAP Business One?

What I like best about SAP Business One is how user-friendly the system feels once you get used to it. The menus are well organized, and even employees who don’t have a strong technical background can easily learn how to navigate it. This reduces the need for constant training and saves time across the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business One?

When dealing with large data sets, reports can take longer to generate, slowing down work.Although it integrates with other tools, the initial setup of integrations is not always straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SAP Business One - ERP to stand the test of time"
What do you like best about SAP Business One?

SAP Business One is built to evolve with your business, which is why it continues to stand the test of time. Its biggest strength is its end-to-end integration—bringing together financials (GL, AR, AP, and fixed assets), inventory management (including batch and serial tracking, multiple warehouses, and bin locations), CRM (customer master data, sales activities, pipeline tracking), purchasing (purchase requests, POs, GRPOs), and production (bills of materials, production orders, MRP) in a single system.

This unified approach eliminates silos and ensures that data flows seamlessly between departments in real time, reducing errors and enabling faster decision-making. It’s not just an ERP; it’s a long-term business platform that supports everything from initial sales engagement through to fulfillment, invoicing, and cash flow analysis.

The system’s reliability, strong audit trails (with full document traceability and change logs), and localization support (multi-currency, multi-language, country-specific tax and reporting structures) make it especially valuable for growing companies operating in multiple markets or regions.

With the addition of the HANA in-memory engine, users benefit from lightning-fast reporting, predictive analytics, and dynamic dashboards that visualize KPIs and trends instantly. And with the continued development of the Web Client, SAP is clearly investing in keeping the solution modern and relevant—offering a browser-based experience with mobile responsiveness, extensibility through BTP (Business Technology Platform), and an evolving UI that’s intuitive and role-based.

One of the standout features often overlooked is the SAP Business One Integration Framework (B1iF). This built-in middleware allows businesses to integrate seamlessly with external systems—such as eCommerce platforms, CRMs, logistics providers, and payment gateways—without needing additional third-party middleware. Whether it's synchronizing online orders, pushing updates to a CRM like HubSpot, or exchanging data with a warehouse system or supplier portal, B1iF provides a scalable, secure, and configurable platform to connect SAP Business One with the outside world. This lowers integration costs and simplifies IT landscapes, making it easier for SMBs to support digital transformation initiatives without adding unnecessary complexity.

In terms of ease of use, SAP Business One strikes a solid balance: while it offers enterprise-grade depth, its interface is logical and task-oriented, especially when supported by guided workflows and a strong implementation partner. Users typically interact with the system daily, from operations and finance to sales and customer service, making it a consistent part of their workflow.

Implementation is highly manageable, particularly for companies working with experienced SAP partners who follow structured methodologies. Most businesses are up and running in a matter of months—not years.

Customer support, especially when provided through certified SAP partners, is responsive, solution-oriented, and knowledgeable. Partners that specialize in SAP Business One tend to build long-term relationships with clients, offering both technical support and strategic guidance post-implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business One?

The very thing that makes SAP Business One powerful—its depth and flexibility—can also be a challenge for new or resource-limited businesses. Because it's a fully-featured ERP system with end-to-end capabilities, there’s a level of complexity that requires a thoughtful implementation and experienced users to truly unlock its value. Businesses expecting “plug and play” may find the initial learning curve steep, especially in areas like configuration, approval processes, or financial controls.

The system is also highly configurable rather than opinionated, meaning that while it can be tailored to your needs, it won’t make those decisions for you. This places a premium on having well-defined internal processes and a knowledgeable partner.

Additionally, due to its robust accounting logic and document traceability, even small changes often require careful consideration to avoid compliance issues or audit trail disruptions. This is not a system that forgives poor planning—it rewards precision and discipline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
