"Their service and products have gone downhill"
What do you like best about Toast?

Integrating third-party delivery apps directly into our POS has been extremely helpful for our business. The menus are, for the most part, easy to update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

Toast customer service has gone so downhill that we have begun researching other platforms. I am having many issues with Toast. For one, there are extended wait times to speak to a representative- we are talking upwards of 30 minutes to get someone on the phone. Even when you manage to get through, they rarely fix an issue in a single phone call. To get my Uber Eats integration working, it took over a month with multiple phone calls to Toast- each call averaging 45 minutes. Their hardware is cumbersome and breaks down easily- within less than a year, all but one of our handhelds are broken. Replacing them is an entire other headache, not to mention costly. Their online ordering is a mess as well- they do not verify card information, so we had multiple chargebacks from payments their system took with no way to fight them. In fact, Toast asked US for proof of the transactions when they were managed completely on their platform, and charged us $15 to "investigate" each one. We discontinued toast takeout ordering for this reason. It's outrageous. We use Toast payroll as well, and they made a huge, costly error and have yet to correct it. I am so unhappy. "Easy POS Software"
What do you like best about Toast?

Ease of use and menu programming. Very easy to make changes on POS quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

I don't have any real issues other than not receiving the invoice in a timely manner. They are getting better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Most Reliable and Advanced POS"
What do you like best about Toast?

Toast being cloud-based is a huge benefit factor of Toast. They are constantly innovating and creating new products that amplify the experience for our staff and customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

Toasts' support is hugely lacking. I am a pretty advanced user and only have to call if something is beyond my control. When I do call, it's a nightmare of waiting on hold and getting incompetent support agents who aren't able to do more than read a support article I've already read and referred to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Toast is Great BUT"
What do you like best about Toast?

Integration with other apps, good response times for problem-solving, ease of use for staff and customers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

Right now, the biggest concern is if Toast will implement a charge for online ordering. That is a big NO NO Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Carrisa Anderson of Toast

"Best One Stop Shop for Restaurant Software!"
What do you like best about Toast?

I love that Toast is working to become an all-in-one platform for restaurants. It becomes frustrating logging into multiple platforms, but Toast has consolidated our tech stack so much! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

I do feel like it can be hard to get a hold of a support person when you have a complex issue. Their tier one support is good to help with issues at the restaurant, but when a more complicated issue arises, it does become hard to get someone to talk to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A world of a difference"
What do you like best about Toast?

The combine process from FOH to BOH, no running back and forth to tell staff you need to change a ticket. Everything all in one place and can make a smooth transition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

Really can't say much on the negative we use to be making $18,500 a month for our sales and since having toast we are now net 45,000-52,000 monthly. This system changed our business and helped us grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive front and back end software"
What do you like best about Toast?

Toast POS is really easy to use for our front of house team and for owners and managers managing the details on the back end. The add-ons, like gift card module, loyalty program, and marketing are all great also! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

Multiple Terminals come with a per unit monthly subscription fee. This can start to get pricey and I wish there were a volume discount for having multiple devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I should I have switched to Toast sooner!"
What do you like best about Toast?

I love the integration of the delivery apps. It eliminates errors on our end when inputting orders. In addition, updating the menu is one click away. As opposed to updating menus in different sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

very few but if I have to choose one is the option to have a handheld where we can do offsite events. In addition to have a field where I can add the cost of an item. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Current, modern POS system!"
What do you like best about Toast?

Toast is excellent for users who are on the go. I love that I can make changes to our system from my phone! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

The call-in Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. I often feel like the reps are reading directly from the online articles already available to me. If I'm calling in, it's usually because the online support materials weren't able to answer my questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Carrisa Anderson of Toast

"Toast Has Been a Godsend for Our Businesses"
What do you like best about Toast?

The integrations are the best part of Toast. Having direct integrations with 3rd Parties (DoorDash/Grubhub/Uber), payroll and many other options has made our lives much easier and simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toast?

We were promised an integration with our Gift Card Company and only got it for Dine In, not Toast Online Ordering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
