One of the most significant opportunities for AI to benefit society is helping to accelerate cancer research and early diagnosis. Just this week our teams, working with partners, shared advances on three fronts: Research breakthroughs: Our C2S-Scale 27B foundation model, built with Yale University and based on Gemma, is a new frontier for single-cell analysis. The tool allows researchers to quickly simulate cell responses to thousands of potential treatments, speeding up the search for new medicines. https://lnkd.in/efr4KnPX Targeted Treatments: We're open-sourcing DeepSomatic, our new model capable of accurately differentiating actual genetic cancer variants from the technical artifacts (or errors) introduced during sequencing, addressing a critical hurdle in developing treatments. DeepSomatic successfully found hard-to-find small variants in pediatric leukemia cells that were missed by other tools. https://lnkd.in/evxkBGup Access to screenings: Color Health, supported by Google.org funding, is launching the Color Assistant to help 20,000 women access breast cancer risk assessments and screening. Powered by Gemini 2.5 models and Vertex AI, the agent quickly determines eligibility for mammograms, schedules breast cancer screenings, and coordinates follow up. Excited about these developments, and look forward to further progress.

What happens next? We took a photo with Lens and asked Nano Banana to generate the next 5 seconds of a scene.  While it’s not predicting the future in a literal sense, the model draws upon its vast world knowledge to generate a plausible outcome in each of these examples. It's a fun peek at how our latest AI image editing model can be used for creative forecasting and storytelling. Nano Banana is now live in Search – accessible through Lens and AI Mode – so you can try this out for yourself! https://lnkd.in/g687z8-K

For Esin, a Senior Account Manager on the GCS Turkiye Mid-Market team, success is built on acting as a trusted partner and advisor — not just a seller. “A common misconception is that account management is purely a sales role focused on targets,” she explains. “In reality, it's deeply consultative. My primary goal is to help my clients solve complex business challenges,” like finding new customers and driving sustainable growth through Google’s latest AI-powered advertising solutions. Her advice for those interested in similar roles? “To succeed as an Account Manager, my best advice is to think like a business partner, not just a marketer,” she says. “Show you understand how to connect marketing objectives to real business outcomes, focusing on what truly impacts your client’s bottom line.” Want to help customers succeed in a job like Esin’s? Today, Google Research announced DeepSomatic, a new machine learning model developed with our partners, including UC Santa Cruz, that accurately identifies genetic variants in cancer cells — a critical step to help scientists and clinicians deliver more precise treatments for patients. It’s the latest breakthrough in our decade-long work applying technology and AI to genomics research. What began in 2015 as a small research effort to apply deep learning to genome sequencing challenges evolved into a global initiative spanning biodiversity, healthcare and more. Finding time to meet just got easier with “Help me schedule,” a new feature in Gmail. When you're responding to an email about finding a time to meet, Gmail now shows a “Help me schedule” button in the toolbar. Select it, and Gemini suggests meeting times based on your availability in Google Calendar and the context of the email. Then, when the other person picks a time, a Calendar invite will be automatically created for everyone.
