Abstract
Description
도 1은 본 발명의 바람직한 한 구체예에 따라 구성된 극돌간 임플란트를 도시한 투시도로서, 이 극돌간 임플란트는 극돌기를 선택적으로 결합하기 위해 한 세트의 결합 암들과 환자의 극돌간 돌기 공간 내로 경피 삽입을 위해 구성되고 크기가 정해진 나사산구성 바디 부분(가상으로 도시됨)을 포함하는데, 상기 결합 암들은 상기 나사산구성 바디 부분의 내부 공동 내에 있는 접힌 위치에 배열된다.
도 2는 도 1의 극돌간 임플란트를 도시한 투시도로서, 상기 결합 암들은 나사산구성된 바디 부분의 내부 공동으로부터 연장된 전개된 위치에 배열된다.
도 3, 4 및 5는 도 1의 극돌간 임플란트를 분해하여 도시한 투시도로서, 용이하게 도시하기 위해 각 부분들은 분리되어 있다.
도 6은 도 1의 라인 6a-6a을 따라 절단한, 도 1의 극돌간 임플란트의 내측 단부 부분을 상세하게 도시한 횡단면도.
도 7은 도 6의 라인 7-7을 따라 절단한, 도 1의 극돌간 임플란트의 내측 단부를 향해 도시된, 가로방향 횡단면도.

도 12는 본 발명에 따른 극돌간 임플란트의 또 다른 구체예를 도시한 투시도로서, 이 극돌간 임플란트는 임플란트의 리딩 단부(leading end) 상에 일체형 탭 챔퍼(integral tap chamfer)를 가지며, 상기 일체형 탭 챔버는 셀프-태핑 기능(self-tapping capability)을 제공하여, 극돌간 돌기 공간에 개별적으로 탭을 낼 필요가 없다.
도 13은 도 12의 극돌간 임플란트의 하측 일부분을 도시한 투시도.
도 14는 본 발명에 따른 극돌간 임플란트의 추가적인 구체예를 도시한 투시도로서, 이 극돌간 임플란트는 구조적인 강도를 높이기 위해 개별적으로 형성된 팁 부분과 내부 코어를 가진다(도 15).
도 15는 도 14의 극돌간 임플란트를 분해하여 도시한 도면.
도 16은 본 발명에 따른 극돌간 임플란트의 추가적인 구체예를 도시한 투시도로서, 이 극돌간 임플란트는 나사산구성되지 않은 외측 표면을 가진다.

Claims (23)
- 세로방향 축을 가지며 극돌간 돌기 공간 내로 경피 삽입하도록 구성되고 크기가 정해진 기다란 나사산구성 바디 부분을 포함하며, 상기 바디 부분은 내부 공동 및 한 쌍의 전개식 결합 부재를 포함하고, 상기 한 쌍의 전개식 결합 부재는 극돌기와 결합하기 위해 상기 바디 부분의 내부 공동으로부터 연장된 전개된 위치(deployed position)와 상기 바디 부분의 내부 공동 내에 철회된 접힌 위치(stowed position) 사이에서 상기 바디 부분의 세로방향 축에 대해 횡단 방향으로 연장되는 공통 축 주위로 일렬로(in tandem) 회전하도록 장착되는, 척추 임플란트에 있어서,
각각의 결합 부재는 중앙 허브로부터 반경 방향으로 외부를 향해 연장되는 한 쌍의 만곡된 결합 암(arm)을 포함하고, 각각의 결합 암은 극돌기와 결합하기 위하여 복수의 톱니(teeth)들을 가진 외측 클로 부분을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트. - 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 척추 임플란트는 결합 부재들을 접힌 위치로부터 전개된 위치로 일렬로 선택적으로 이동시키기 위해 나사산구성 바디 부분의 내부 공동 내로 연장되는 구동 조립체(drive assembly)를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 척추 임플란트는 결합 부재들을 전개된 위치에 선택적으로 고정시키기 위해 상기 구동 조립체와 작동가능하게 결합되는 수단을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 구동 조립체는 바디 부분의 세로방향 축을 따라 바디 부분의 내부 공동 내로 연장되는 메인 구동 샤프트를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.

- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 나사산구성 바디 부분은, 임플란트를 극돌간 돌기 공간 내로 삽입하는 동안, 인접한 극돌기들을 서서히 분산(distract)시키도록 구성되고 상기 바디 부분의 외측 노즈 부분에서 내부를 향해 축방향으로 테이퍼구성되는 외부 윤곽(outer profile)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제8항에 있어서, 바디 부분 위에 나사산(thread)들이 제공되고, 상기 나사산들은 바디 부분의 노즈 부분에 걸쳐 일부분 이상 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 외측 노즈 부분은 세로방향 축에 대해 30°의 각도만큼 바디의 중앙 영역에 대해 내부를 향해 축방향으로 테이퍼구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 척추 임플란트는 척추 임플란트의 강도를 높이도록(rigidifying) 구성되고 형성된 내부 코어 부분을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 코어 부분은 임플란트의 외측 단부에 배열된 일체형 팁 부분을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 바디 부분은 바디 부분의 중앙 부분이 형성되는 재료와 상이한 재료로 형성되는 개별적으로 형성된 내측 부분을 포함하되, 상기 내측 부분은 금속 재료로 형성되며, 바디 부분의 중앙 부분은 폴리머 재료로 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.

- a) 극돌간 돌기 공간 내로 경피 삽입하도록 구성되고 크기가 정해진 기다란 나사산구성 바디 부분을 포함하되, 상기 기다란 나사산구성 바디 부분은 내부 공동을 가지며 세로방향 축을 형성하고;
b) 극돌기와 결합하기 위해 상기 기다란 나사산구성 바디 부분의 내부 공동으로부터 연장된 전개된 위치와 상기 기다란 나사산구성 바디 부분의 내부 공동 내에 철회된 접힌 위치 사이에서 상기 기다란 나사산구성 바디 부분의 세로방향 축에 대해 횡단 방향으로 연장되는 공통 축 주위로 일렬로 이동하도록 형성되고 구성되는 한 쌍의 전개식 결합 부재들을 포함하며;
c) 결합 부재들을 접힌 위치로부터 전개된 위치로 일렬로 선택적으로 이동시키기 위해 세로방향 축을 따라 상기 기다란 나사산구성된 바디 부분의 내부 공동 내로 연장되는 회전식 구동 샤프트를 포함하는, 척추 임플란트에 있어서,
한 쌍의 전개식 결합 부재들은 극돌기와 결합하기 위하여 제공되며, 각각의 결합 부재는 중앙 허브로부터 반경 방향으로 외부를 향해 연장되는 한 쌍의 만곡된 결합 암을 포함하고, 각각의 결합 암은 극돌기와 결합하기 위하여 복수의 톱니들을 가진 외측 클로 부분을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트. - 제15항에 있어서, 결합 부재들을 전개된 위치에 선택적으로 고정시키기 위하여 상기 바디 부분과 상기 회전식 구동 샤프트와 작동가능하게 결합되는 고정 캡이 제공되는 것을 특징으로 하는 척추 임플란트.
