Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for avoiding transport of at least one utility item, e.g. a piece of luggage that a user needs at a predetermined destination to which he wishes to travel or to go.
- the invention also includes a server device for carrying out the method and a system consisting of the server device and a plurality of delivery services.
- a method is known from WO 2014/149 513 A1 for booking flights with different flight services via a uniform user interface.
- the invention has for its object to reduce the costs incurred when traveling by persons by the transport of their luggage expenses.
- the invention provides a method in which a server device for a user unifies the process of obtaining a piece of work at a destination, for example a resort or generally in a city or in a country.
- the server device provides a worldwide identically designed user interface (GUI) or search mask or order interface via which the server device receives a request list with at least one list entry from the user at its starting point or starting location. Each list entry indicates a piece of equipment needed by the user at the destination.
- GUI worldwide identically designed user interface
- search mask or order interface via which the server device receives a request list with at least one list entry from the user at its starting point or starting location.
- Each list entry indicates a piece of equipment needed by the user at the destination.
- the server device additionally holds a supplier list for different destinations.
- the requesting list with the at least one list entry is imaged or converted by the server device in such a way that order data for the respective local order interface (API) of a local delivery service is generated at the destination and thus the delivery of at least one item of use by the control device is controlled at the destination.
- the user can therefore travel from the starting location without the at least one utility piece to the destination.
- For the at least one utility item is delivered to the user at the destination by at least one local delivery service to a delivery point.
- the operation of the local order interface of local Ferdienste does not have to be done directly by the user, but this serves only the world equally equipped, standardized order interface of the server device.
- the server device maintains multiple supplier lists, one for each possible destination, for example, one each for New Delhi, Singapore, Sydney, New York, Berlin, to name just a few examples.
- Each supplier list contains at least one local delivery service available at the respective possible destination.
- the destination is made sure that the at least one local delivery service keeps one or some or each needed piece of equipment in stock at the destination.
- the server device receives the destination of the predetermined destination via the standardized, globally uniformly configured order interface and, in addition, request data containing the said request list.
- the standardized order interface differs from the local order interfaces of local delivery services, meaning that the standardized order interface is independent of the local order interface of each local delivery service. The user does not have to get involved in the different order interfaces of local delivery services with regard to their operation.
- the server device selects the supplier list of the predetermined destination.
- the supplier list thus indicates which local delivery service is available at the destination.
- the list entries (each describing a required piece of use) are processed by ordering data for a localized order being generated for at least one local delivery service entered from the selected supplier list.
- the "localized order" is characterized by being compliant with the local local delivery interface of the local delivery service, in other words, the server device translates the user's request data from the standardized order interface into order data for the local order interface of a local delivery service are then sent to the local order interface of the delivery service so that use the order data to initiate or control a local delivery of the respective piece of equipment to a delivery point at the destination at the local delivery service.
- the invention thus results in the advantage that the user has a standardized, standardized order interface on the server device which is independent of the destination, with which he can place or request an order for at least one utility item without knowing the local delivery services at different destinations.
- the server device then centrally manages the delivery service or co-ordinates the delivery services at the destination so that a required piece of equipment is ready at the delivery point at the destination when the user arrives at the destination.
- several utility items are ordered or procured from several different delivery services. This means that the delivery services are linked or coordinated or coordinated via the server device.
- the utility items are then at the agreed place, namely the delivery point.
- a respective mapping rule is provided which is designed to convert a respective list entry of the request list into order data that conforms to the local order interface of the delivery service.
- the invention includes optional additional features that provide additional benefits.
- each piece of equipment which is required is controlled to a common, uniform delivery point.
- Each required piece of equipment is thus transported or provided at an agreed place of delivery or at an agreed place of delivery. The user thus receives each supplied piece of equipment in a single delivery.
- a rental car also ordered via the standardized order interface or an accommodation also reserved via the standardized order interface is selected as the delivery location.
- the user thus finds each piece of utility in his rental car or his accommodation. Thus, no additional way to pick up or pick up each piece of utility is needed.
- Another aspect of the invention concerns the question of where each piece of utility should be brought to after finishing, for example, the holiday or business trip (ie when the user leaves the destination).
- collection records are additionally generated for at least one utility item and sent out to a pick-up service or collection service.
- the server device thereby controls the picking up of the respective utility piece from a pickup point to a return date.
- the said pickup service may, of course, coincide with the delivery service which provided the piece of equipment.
- several pieces of utility are thus picked up again.
- the user does not have to worry about the whereabouts of the utility items or each piece of utility, but can simply leave the destination and leave any unneeded piece of equipment there.
- status data is preferably received on the return date or after the return date by the server device, which state a respective state of each piece of equipment to be picked up.
- provision of a replacement and / or a repair and / or a preparation for example, cleaning and / or sorting and / or completion
- the server apparatus manages or initiates or controls the billing of the damage and / or organizing a replacement. So far, it has been described that the user can actually procure any required piece of equipment by means of the request data on the standardized order interface.
- an availability list of the service items held in total by each delivery service of the predetermined destination at the destination is preferably made available via the standardized interface. So there are possible offers of use pieces on the standardized order interface for the user available or signaled. Here, a categorization or classification according to purpose can be done. By sending out the availability list via the standardized order interface, a globally uniform search mask is therefore provided for determining available utility items for different possible destinations. After selection, an order or request to the local delivery service, ie at its local order interface, may be generated by the server device in the manner described. The user must also be sure that every piece of equipment needed is available to him.
- the server device inquires at the at least one local delivery service of the destination whether a requested piece of equipment is kept in stock at the destination by the at least one delivery service. In the absence of confirmation of this request, the server device at the standardized order interface signals to the user that the piece of equipment is not available. In other words, this ensures that the user brings the piece of use itself.
- the request data of the standardized order interface preferably also includes a date of arrival of the user at the destination.
- the delivery of the at least one required piece of equipment then preferably takes place to the delivery point in such a way by means of the order data that the server device controls the delivery to the delivery point as time-delayed delivery as a function of the arrival date.
- a user can book the at least one required piece of utility before commencing his journey, that is, specify what he needs, and then, at the time of arrival, obtains any needed piece of equipment at the delivery point of the destination.
- the server device is universally usable in this way for providing consumables.
- the at least one utility item is one of the following and is kept in stock: a consumable that is consumed after delivery (for example, sunscreen and / or food) or a returnable item to be retrieved (for example a loudspeaker and / or a sunshade) or a loaner with treatment that can be repaired after use (for example footwear or laundry that needs to be cleaned).
- a consumable that is consumed after delivery for example, sunscreen and / or food
- a returnable item to be retrieved for example a loudspeaker and / or a sunshade
- a loaner with treatment that can be repaired after use (for example footwear or laundry that needs to be cleaned).
- the method is carried out centrally by the server device, which for this purpose is e.g. can be operated as a server of the Internet.
- the server device has a processor device which is set up to carry out an embodiment of the method according to the invention.
- the processor device can have at least one microprocessor and / or at least one microcontroller.
- the processor device may have a program code which is set up to execute the embodiment of the method according to the invention when executed by the processor device.
- the program code may be stored in a data memory of the processor device.
- the said effect of avoiding the transport of at least one utility item is provided by the combination of the server device with the standardized order interface for receiving the request list and the delivery services at the destination locations for delivering the utility items.
- the user on the one hand and the delivery services on the other hand with their local order interfaces are coupled via the server device. This results in a system of multiple delivery services located at destinations, where local ordering interfaces of the delivery services of all destinations are coupled or unified or encapsulated by the standardized ordering interface of the server device.
- the standardized order interface can be presented or displayed to the user, for example, on a mobile terminal, for example a smartphone or a tablet PC or a smartwatch, for example in the form or via an application software (App). This app can also be part of the system.
- the standardized order interface can also be configured as an Internet page that can be called up or downloaded via the Internet.

- the server device 1 1 can then generate a status report 28 from the respective availability status 27 of all delivery services 13 and signal a corresponding availability list 29 to the user on the terminal 14 via the standardized order interface 16 as a destination-related search result 30.
- FIG. 2 illustrates how a user 31 at a point of departure 32 prior to travel may thereby place an order for use pieces 33 to be provided at a destination 12 of the journey, such that the user 31 will carry these use pieces 33 on their way from the point of departure 32 to the destination 12 does not have to carry as luggage. Rather, at least one local delivery service 13 is controlled by the server device 11 in the manner described in order to provide or deliver all utility items 33 in, for example, a delivery box 34 at the agreed delivery location 25 on the arrival date 24 of the user 31. For the coordination by the server device 1 1, a fee or a share 35 can be paid to the operator of the server device 1 1.
- the server device 1 1 provides a user interface or order interface 16, for example, as a mobile app or as a web page, which indicates all available offers for utility items 33 at the destination 12. If the user 31 inputs the destination specification 19, this is sent to the server device 11, where, for example, an algorithm indicates the available utility items 33 at the destination 12. The utility items 33 which can be provided by the respective delivery service 13 can then be signaled to the server device 11, which can then display these as an availability list 29 to the user at the standardized order interface 16.
- a delivery service or a piece of equipment such as a food, garment, electronic device
- corresponding booking data or request data 18 are sent with the request list 20 to the server device 1 1, where each delivery service for the destination 12 via the Local order interface API is controlled by server device 1 1 in order to control or coordinate the delivery by means of order data.
- the user name of the user 31, the time of arrival 24, the required utility items 33 and / or the service life or service life may also be transmitted or indicated.
- the at least one delivery service 13 then delivers the ordered or requested commodities 33 to the agreed delivery location or to the agreed delivery location 25, as indicated by the order data 22 of the server device 11. It can then be stored or set a delivery status in the server device 1 1.
- Some or all of the utility items 33 may then be retrieved after use on a return date. If they are picked up or collected at the agreed pick-up point, the pick-up service can adjust the status of the pick-pieces 33 to be picked up accordingly. This is set or signaled at the respective local order interface API of the local delivery service 13. Automated then this information can be forwarded to the server device 1 1. If a feedback or status message to the user 31 is needed or is to be forwarded, because, for example, a piece 33 to be picked up is missing or damaged, corresponding status data can be generated via the server device 11 and sent to the user 31 be forwarded or output via the standardized order interface 16.
- the user 31 can thus travel in total from the starting point 32 to the destination 12 without having to carry the necessary utility items 33 in his own luggage. There he can then accept the utility items 33 at the delivery point 25 and subsequently leave them at the destination 12 again. This saves energy for the transport of the utility items 33 and / or relieves the user 31 of the journey to the destination 12. In addition, the user 31 also saves money since he does not pay for baggage transport to e.g. the airline has to pay.
- Passenger-free travel as described herein may also be coupled with a rental car service and / or accommodation (hotel and / or guest) broker to have a corresponding delivery location 25 for the utility items 33.
- a sunshade, a towel, footwear, a charger for an electronic device or the like can be ordered online via the Internet as utility items 33. It can also be ordered locally typical, such as local food and / or adapted to local circumstances clothing.
- the utility items 33 can be left behind.
- a shopping service can also be integrated, which allows a piece of utility 33 to be taken along from the destination 12, whereby the purchase can then be processed via the server device 1 1.
