Hi All,
I've tried to compile jRate in version jRate-0_3_6-3_3_3 but I've encountered
the following problem:

....
Basically, I've followed the instructions written in INSTALL, i.e. customize
jRate-env.sh, source it, and call: make jRate-gcc-cvs.
After downloading the whole source of gcc, compilation starts and ... fails.
Could anybody tell me what is wrong?

Dear Sir I am trying to install jRate, but unfortunately I have encountered some problems. First of all I have tried the 0.3.4 and the 0.3.6 editions, which I downloaded from the sourceforge mirrors. I have tried to set it up on a Suse Linux 9.2 system with gcc 3.4.3. Also the libtool 1.5.8 is installed as well as python. I try the "make jRate-gcc-cvs" option (run as user root). The gcc sources are downloaded without a problem and I reach the point where I am informed that the libraries have been installed without a problem. When the gcc patching begins I receive some failed Hunks until the moment where I am informed that two files are missing. The exact message is ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ can't find file to patch at input line 2597 Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option? The text leading up to this was: -------------------------- |Index: libjava/gnu/java/nio/natFileChannelImpl.cc |=================================================================== |RCS file: /cvs/gcc/gcc/libjava/gnu/java/nio/Attic/natFileChannelImpl.cc,v |retrieving revision 1.1.2.1 |diff -u -w -r1.1.2.1 natFileChannelImpl.cc |--- libjava/gnu/java/nio/natFileChannelImpl.cc 13 Feb 2003 16:50:39 -0000 1.1.2.1 |+++ libjava/gnu/java/nio/natFileChannelImpl.cc 7 Mar 2004 23:26:12 -0000 -------------------------- File to patch: Skip this patch? Do you have any idea about what is wrong. I also tried setting up jRate 0.3.4 on my home computer which runs Fedora Core 2 and I encounterd the same problem. I have seen the "common Pitfalls" document in sourceforge and it was no help, unfortunately in the forum there was no subjects related to my problem. Any help would be great. If you need any information please ask. Thank you.
