What do you like best about Motive?

What stands out the most is its AI-powered dashcams and driver safety tools, which help reduce accidents and improve accountability. The platform is easy to use, offers real-time GPS tracking, and makes compliance with regulations much simpler. One of the biggest upsides is how it combines safety, maintenance, and operations in a single system—making fleet management more efficient and cost-effective. What do you dislike about Motive?

While Motive is a solid platform overall, one issue I’ve noticed is that it can be a bit slow at times. The app sometimes lags or takes a while to load certain features, which can be frustrating—especially when you’re trying to access important info quickly. What do you like best about Motive?

The most helpful things about Motive would be the ability to see where our drivers are in case of breakdowns, emergencies and those types of scenarios. I like the ability to be able to pull up documents based on their criteria and date of upload as well- independently and in groups of each driver. Another great feature is the ability to see how long until the driver arrives at their next destination. That has been very helpful daily! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Motive?

One downside I have noticed is that sometimes the Fleet View does lag a bit and will show my driver out in the middle of nowhere, when in fact they are doing 69 on the freeway somewhere. It's not very often, but does happen Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Motive?

The ability to access my Fleet Anytime I need to and the ability to have alerts sent to drivers, managers and myself for safety concerns. Motive has great pricing as well, they work with your needs and are there to help you when you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Motive?

I would like to see the updates come out a little faster. When they roll out new updates I think if they gave out those dates before hand would be beneficial. For example the new August 2023 Roll Out of new Drivers scores, we didn't know exactly when those updates were going to roll out, I had to reach out to support to get the answer. What do you like best about Motive?

I think our favorite part about the Motive system is that the camera, gps and e-log system is all in the same place. Our operations team can see what they need to see in one place which is great. The videos can be viewed and downloaded very quickly which is great when accidents do occur. We have had several incidents that other vehicles were at fault and we were able to get a copy of the video to an officer right then. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Motive?

Our only issue has been with the solar powered asset trackers. After our 3rd year with Motive we switched to the battery powered Asset Minis. They work great for the most part, but we did have to replace half of ours due to battery issues. We are hoping once these are swapped out we won't have anymore issues. What do you like best about Motive?

I am a big fan of using Motive software fleetwide, to hold not only myself but the rest of our team accountable for their actions behind the wheel of fleet vehicles. Real time AI monitoring provides feedback that beats any "after action review". Highlights include seatbelt, drowsiness, and distracted driving monitoring. Real-time audio coaching shows consistent improvement, in a reduction of event alerts fleetwide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Motive?

Downsides are that the camera must be placed in a manner that does somewhat block the drivers field of view, in light vehicles. Heavy unit camera placement is ideal, but light vehicle camera placement/size could stand some improvement. Another downside is there is currently no ability to focus/minimize event camera footage to a select group; it's all or nothing. I'd like the ability to see what my team is doing, without other personnel who manage other divisions, being able to see my group. Having "direct-report" camera footage option would be ideal. What do you like best about Motive?

Motive rocks from the service administrator side of things, I can look back at past history, months and months back; It has helped us catch DOT/Truck numbers of people who have side swiped us; the program itself is very intuitive, very few times have I had to contact support to show me how to do things, most of the time it's quite self explanatory; but when I've had to contact them, they have been helpful. What do you dislike about Motive?

I wish so much wasn't involved in resetting the equipment or that more people knew how to work with it. If a gateway stops working, we have to route the unit back home to get it going again and sometimes our trucks stay out for quite a long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Motive?

The best feature of Motive is the Fleet View. I know where my fleet is at all times. When a customer calls asking when they should expect their delivery, I can go to Motive and retrieve this information quickly. I also use Motive to keep track of IFTA reporting, coaching drivers and inspection reports. I am still learning how to integrate all the features Motive has to offer into our current processes. What do you dislike about Motive?

There are a few downsides to Motive, like not being able to customize some of the templates like fuel purchases. And not being able to change a vehicles odometer reading to reflect it's true reading after installing the ELD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Motive?

Easy tracking and location data. Available camara options are a great way to absolve the company on false traffic claims.

Tracking Drivers HOS works very well as long as the Driver or device connects wirelessly in addition to Bluetooth. Without connecting both ways, only part of the Drivers information uploads in a real time manner.

Our integration and change from a competing system went easily, without many hiccups at all.

The system is very easy to use and get comfortable with as it kind of seems to mirror other systems, so navigation was easy for my team to negotiate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Motive?

The least favorite feature is how Motive cuts the legs out from under its own system by throttling the data transfer on users that have exceeded the monthly allotment. Most other systems based of our experience with them, throttle any outside data usage but do not change how the Motive ELD app functions. My Drivers hate this aspect because they are the ones waiting several minutes for app data to transfer to update their information. To me this is the biggest flaw for Motive.

The second least favorite feature to me is the reporting. When you view a report, its lay out is one way and at times when you export or print a report, it loses aspects and the layout is different and less efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Motive?

It’s really easy to use, both for our drivers and on the admin side. The software makes it simple to track logs, pull up reports, and verify information when we need to. Overall, it’s been reliable for us, and having everything — ELDs, dashcams, and gateways — all in one system definitely makes managing our fleet easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Motive?

The main frustration has been dealing with customer service when it comes to getting hardware replaced — the RMA process can be a bit of a hassle.
