At Edge & Node, we’re building a Deferred Payment scheme using Coinbase Developer Platform's x402 to help scale the agentic economy 🤖 What does that mean, why does it matter, and how does it work? The future is agentic. At Edge & Node, we are building on The Graph's infra to power the trillion dollar agentic economy, where machines do more than analyze data and are able to transact with it. That is why we are integrating with Coinbase x402 and Google A2A. This makes it possible for machine to machine and agent to agent transactions to settle instantly and at scale. What started with Subgraphs, the rails for onchain data, is now evolving into the infrastructure for intelligent agents to coordinate and transact, and create new value flows in real time. It is still early and we can’t wait to share more soon, but for now, here’s a demo from our engineer Kevin Jones using Subgraph MCP and x402…

Early indexing powered web3 explorers. The Edge & Node team launched Graph Subgraphs, Graph Node, and Studio, and gave developers a way to organize raw blockchain data and build the first generation of dapps. But the context has shifted. Institutions and AI are no longer “coming,” they’re already here. Their expectations are very different: scale, verifiability, and reliability are not optional. This creates new pressure on data infrastructure. The systems built for explorers need to evolve to meet the needs of enterprises and AI systems. Indexing isn’t going away, but it has to mature into something bigger. Do you think we’re still in the explorer era, or firmly in the new era of data?
