"Box is our reliable home for secure file sharing and collaboration"
What do you like best about Box?

Box makes storing and sharing files super easy for our team. I really like how simple it is to set up folders, work with teammates, and manage who can see or edit each file. It keeps everything in sync across our devices, and it works well with tools like Microsoft 365 and Slack. We can all work on the same documents or projects without any hassle. Features like advanced permissions, version history, and strong security give me peace of mind that our files are safe but always available when we need them. Use it every day to stay organised. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

Some of the more advanced tools take a bit of time to learn. File previews can be slow if you’re working with large media files. And if your team is really big, managing all the permissions can get a little tricky. But none of that has really gotten in the way of getting work done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Reliable, and Great for Team Collaboration"
What do you like best about Box?

I love how easy it is to store and organize files, especially when working with a team. Sharing documents is super straightforward, and the version control has saved me more than once when someone overwrote a file. It’s reliable, secure, and keeps everything in one place so I’m not digging through random folders or emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

Sometimes the web interface feels a little slow and clunky compared to other cloud storage tools. Occasionally it doesn’t update as quickly as I’d like. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I wish the user experience was a little bit smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Box provides a strong foundation and is forward-looking towards innovation"
What do you like best about Box?

• Box provides a secure and reliable platform that scales well for large organizations like ours. I especially value the consulting services we received during implementation, which gave us clear guidance and best practices right from the start.

• I appreciate Box’s forward-looking vision, particularly in the area of AI. Even though we are still early in our adoption, it’s clear that Box is building toward a more secure and structured environment that will benefit us long-term.

• The combination of strong platform features and expert consulting support made our adoption process much smoother than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

• Some of the AI capabilities are still developing, so while the roadmap is exciting, not all of the features are fully realized yet.

• There is a learning curve with some of the advanced functionality, which requires time and training to fully adopt across the organization.

• Occasional complexity in aligning Box features with existing workflows means that consulting support is especially valuable at the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Maybe I'm a dinosaur, but I like Dropbox better"
What do you like best about Box?

Its a great solution to host your files, access them from anywhere, send a link to anyone anywhere and allow them to preview it; as long as they are also savvy with technology. I'm happy when I'm working with a client thats using it because I know my way around the user interface, but I'd be happier if it was Dropbox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

Its just not Dropbox, again maybe I've just been using Dropbox too long; but I can't find a reason to switch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Box powers enterprise and public-sector agencies with AI-enabled intelligence, compliance & security"
What do you like best about Box?

Outside of the TEAM, what I like best about Box is Box's new Enterprise Advanced. With Intelligent Content Management + multi-model AI, Box grants public sector agencies and enterprises of all sizes with THE platform to drive their workflow automation, AI-powered innovations, and cost-containment while ensuring the foundational elements of compliance, security, trust and governance remain the underpinning area of focus for the platform. Simply: stellar! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

There is not much I dislike about Box. I think a continued focus on partner eco-system advocacy, co-branded messaging with partners and continued efforts around AI innovations will close the gaps for customers as they lay the foundation for digital evolution with Box as THE enabling platform for those outcomes. Co-innovation may also be an opportunity with the partner eco-system as we explore MCPs, A2A workflows and other edge innovations to grant CIO's, CISO's and business leaders with the broadest set of innovations possible - leveraging Box. "Great for Secure Sharing, But PDF Downloads Need Streamlining"
What do you like best about Box?

I like that you can share documents with trusted colleagues from different corporations. Also that the documents are there for as long as you need them. Especially if you need to refer to a document in the past to research a trend for a particular item. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

I think the only thing I don't like is when you download documents, it takes you to multiple screens to save as PDF. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Its nice to share large datasets or files without needing to take up memory"
What do you like best about Box?

I have used it to share large datasets for both work and leisure, mostly pictures. I work with game camera pictures for wildlife population surveys, and had multiple technicians analyzing photos remotely. It was nice to know that they could see the photos and upload their own data within the same folders and I can immediately access it. It also saved them from needing to download thousands of pictures onto their personal laptops, and saved me from needing to share an external hard drive with multiple people or purchase multiple external hard drives for them to take, that I would then be worried about losing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

While I like that the software I used could integrate my files in from Box the same way it would if it were on my desktop hard drive, doing this through box did make the process go a little more slowly. This was the case whether I was on good or poor internet speeds, on wifi and ethernet. It also was a little confusing at times to change/modify permissions for people on shared folders. "using box for storage"
What do you like best about Box?

What stands out most about Box is its strong focus on secure collaboration and workflow efficiency. It combines cloud storage with features like version control, task assignments, and fine-grained sharing permissions, making it easy for teams to work together without emailing files back and forth. Its integrations with tools like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Slack, plus automation through Box Relay, make managing documents and business processes smooth and efficient, especially for enterprises handling sensitive data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

One downside of Box is that its interface can feel more complex and less intuitive than simpler cloud storage options, which can make it harder for new users to navigate. Some features, especially advanced security and workflow tools, are only available on higher-priced plans, which can be costly for smaller teams. Upload and sync speeds can also be slower compared to competitors like Dropbox, and offline access can sometimes be limited or cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Content Management with Room for Smoother Navigation"
What do you like best about Box?

What I really like about Box is how seamless and secure it feels when you're collaborating with a team—especially across departments or even companies. The version history and permissions control are lifesavers when you’re juggling multiple file updates with stakeholders. I’ve used it heavily for sharing contracts, project docs, and even design files, and it’s great knowing everything’s in one place and locked down with proper access controls.

Also, the Box Notes feature is underrated. It's handy for quick meeting notes or shared agendas, and it’s nice that you don’t have to jump into Google Docs or something separate. Lately, the AI features have been surprisingly helpful, especially for summarizing long PDFs or extracting key points from proposals. I didn’t expect to rely on that, but now I use it more than I thought I would. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

The one thing that consistently bugs me is the web interface—it’s functional, but sometimes it feels a bit clunky or slower compared to Google Drive or Dropbox. Navigating deep folder structures or searching for files can take a bit longer than it should, especially if your organization uses Box at scale.

Another thing: the desktop sync app isn’t the most intuitive. There were a few times when files didn’t sync right away, and that caused confusion during tight deadlines. I also wish their built-in document previewer supported more formats with better rendering—sometimes it doesn't play nice with larger or complex PowerPoint or Excel files. "Still the one cloud sync solution I turn to"
What do you like best about Box?

What's not to love? It does not steal my data, does not sell my info to thrid parties and provides me with secure servers to backup my critical (and useless) data. Plenty of space on the free plan for you to make sure your Documents and Pictures folders are fully backed up (unless you're a hoarder, of course). Desktop sync is easy to set up and quite reliable. There are apps for all the major platforms (R.I.P. Palm, BB and BB10 but they where there when those were not EOL'd). The paid plans are affordable and do offer quality of life features the free plan could use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Box?

My dislikes are less about the BOX app than to the fact that the integration BB10/BOX had left everything else feeling like a poor knockoff - including their own Android app. I don't think Android (Google) would ever let them have that level of integration with the system, so this is kinda not on them. it is now 2024 and that sentiment has not changed.

They should update their plans. It's 2024. BOX still treats user data as if it was 2012. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
