What do you dislike about Tipalti?

The only drawback we’ve experienced is that the NetSuite integration isn’t 100% accurate. When purchase orders are updated after an invoice has already been matched in Tipalti, the record may fail to post in NetSuite, which occasionally requires manual intervention. What do you like best about Tipalti?

Tipalti has been a reliable and efficient solution for our accounts payable processes. One of the standout aspects is their exceptional customer support — their team is consistently quick to respond, and their willingness to resolve issues goes above and beyond. This level of support gives us confidence and peace of mind, especially when dealing with time-sensitive matters.

The integration with NetSuite has also been a major benefit. It streamlines our workflow and significantly reduces manual work, allowing us to save valuable time and focus on more strategic tasks. What do you dislike about Tipalti?

There are a couple of areas where we’d love to see improvement. Occasionally, when creating a payment batch with multiple invoices, the batch can be lost if something interrupts the process, requiring us to start over. A “save for later” function would be a great enhancement. Additionally, when our accounting period is locked and approved invoices can’t sync to NetSuite (which is understandable), it would be helpful to have a more efficient way to mass update invoice dates. Currently, we need to retract approval on each invoice individually, adjust the date, and re-approve — a bit time-consuming for monthly cycles.

Overall, Tipalti remains a strong and valuable tool in our AP workflow, and with a few usability enhancements, it could be even better. We’re excited to see how the platform continues to evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tipalti?

What I like best about Tipalti is how user-friendly and reliable it is. The interface makes navigating and managing tasks simple, and it works really well for someone like me who’s handling accounts payable on my own. The integration with NetSuite has saved a ton of time, particularly with bank reconciliations and cutting out the need for manual journal entries. I also really appreciate the efficiency it brings to our invoice processing and payment workflows—it’s helped us shorten our month-end close by a full day.

Another huge win is the customer support. I always get quick responses, whether I contact our account rep or hop on a chat. They’re helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely seem to care about resolving issues. Having consistent points of contact builds a lot of trust too. Plus, the added features like virtual card payments have given us opportunities to earn cashback without disrupting our processes. Implementing the system took longer than expected, and the process had a few hiccups. What do you like best about Tipalti?

What I like best about Tipalti is how it simplifies integration and makes handling financial processes smoother overall. The integration with NetSuite has been a big help, and when any sync issues come up, the team is responsive and proactive in helping resolve them. I also appreciate how the platform centralises multiple functionalities like AP, procurement, and potentially even expenses. It's convenient to have everything in one system, and their AI and OCR features usually work quite well in capturing invoice details accurately.

Another aspect I value is the customer support. Whenever I’ve faced challenges, the team has been available to assist - whether it’s getting engineers involved to sort out sync issues or arranging calls to walk through specific problems. They’re easy to reach out to, and it’s clear they’re focused on resolving issues quickly. On top of that, I’ve found the regular product updates and new features, like the recent integration of Statement.io for treasury processes, to be promising for expanding how we can use Tipalti. While the support team is helpful, having to raise multiple tickets for similar problems can feel a bit tedious at times. * I like the chat feature in customer support, so that I don't have to wait for a reply to email. * API Integration is reliable and saves SO much time. * It was easy to implement - we had an implementation specialist who helped us configure to our needs. * It is easy for the execs to approve by email. *Checks do not have remittance (specify the Invoice#s) which is needed for those vendors who do not check the email remittance. * I often change vendor IDs which can cause technical issues * We wish that suppliers could have more than one user. * We get 100 free OCR, but it turns out quite a bit of junk mail gets counted against us. What do you like best about Tipalti?

Overall, the payer and payee portals are well designed. The OCR feature works reasonably well. The number of payment options offered is great. In short, a big step forward from our ERP only process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tipalti?

I cannot recommend Tipalti to anyone looking to integration their product with NetSuite. Their integration engineering team delayed our implementation by two months after failing to inform us that there was a known issue when mapping the project/customer transaction line field if you have a significant number of customers. We were only able to move forward after giving up on their support and implementation manager to understand, much less fix the issue.

Further, the product doesn't have minor guardrails to prevent NetSuite integration errors during the 3-way match process. For example, matching multiple bills lines to a single PO line will cause an error. This requires the entire matching/approval process to be redone. Some very modest development work could prevent this.

Finally, after going into our second year with the product, we've had the integration simply fail to run either entirely or for specific records on six separate occasions. Tipalti does not actively monitor their integration jobs and it is up to the customer to notify their support team of any issues. Usually, this takes 3-4 days to be escalated to someone capable of fixing the issue on their engineering team.

Bottom line, if you're on NetSuite you cannot trust that the product will work for you consistently.

There are a number of inconsistencies with the UI design. Every page of the bill processing workflow looks like it was designed by a different team. Additionally, many of the relevant actions are not available when viewing a bill directly. Rather, you must find the bill from the list page to get access to the needed actions.

We struggled to work with our Tipalti implementation manager. He had no project plan for implementation, did not know his project, and was not knowledgable about the NetSuite integration. We had to insist on being assigned a new implementation manager. He was only marginally better organized but we essentially implemented the product ourselves wherever we were able to.

Lastly, charging user licenses for any privileged user is ridiculous for this class of software and should be included in the base price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
