I have succeded in install avview 0.80.7 with ffmpeg0.48 km(cvs), on
etch  with xorg7.1.1.
My card is all in wonder agp 32 Mo

I can see and hear TV but I can't made capture .

This error means, that compiler it is trying to evaluate size of
structure, but it is not able to do it, because declaration is
incomplete (i. e. id is declared as a pointer to not specified struct).

I compiled ffmpeg from an older the ffmpeg snapshot without problems.

I'll try to compile later one.

My patch expects standard ffmpeg installed in the system (including
devel files). You can download it from many sources.

cd avview
patch <avview-ffmpeg-preliminary-crashing-0.4.9.patch
Then compile in a standard way.
It will compile OK, but it will crash when you will attempt to record
video. API is different for 0.4.8 and 0.4.9 and I did not yet found,
what needs to be done to fix this crash.

How can I make Avview wor ?

I tried to get my TV-out working. I followed the instructions from here:

I use Ubuntu 6.10 with X.org 7.1.1 on a ThinkPad R51 with a Radeon
Mobility 7500.=20
I used this:

All I get is a scrambled picture on my TV. I can guess the real
picture.=20
I saw a post with pictures with a working Mobility 7500. Same
instructions, so what to do?

Assuming that the kernel source dir you've linked to corresponds exactly with the kernel version to which you are booting, the link is fine. What you need to do is to copy the "config-2.6.20-1.2933.fc6" file from /boot into /usr/src/linux/, renaming it there to "config.h". This is the same configuration file that was employed when said kernel was compiled.
