Hallo. I have just finished porting of XVideo and TV-input support code for ATI Rage 128 based All-In-Wonder cards code for modular Xorg. ftp://ftp.penguin.cz/pub/users/utx/gatos/xf86-video-ati-6.6.3-r128-xvideo.patch It is a result of comparing all different chunks of code between GATOS and original XFree86 code. These chunks were ported to the latest Xorg. I would be glad to get it to the upstream. Just after it started to work, I found another attempt, so I added my patch there, too: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8811#c7 My patch works with DRI and is as small as possible. Support for Rage Theatre 200 was not added to my patch. I doubt there is any R128 + RT200 card. Currently known issues with R128 support: - Use of GL or overlay video sometimes corrupts hw cursor colormap (Xorg driver bug). - Use of XRandR or screen mode change freezes overlay video. - Ugly graphic effects while starting the server (cosmetic regression sometimes between xorg 6.8.1 and 6.9.0, Xorg driver bug). - Suspend/Resume support does not work properly (Xorg or DRI bug). - Use of framebuffer while X session contains active overlay video sometimes crashes X. - There is no support for stereo processor in All-In-Wonder cards. - Orphan interrupts in km module causing disabled interrupt in kernel 2.6. - V4L2 driver does not work and crashes kernel. Possible issues of my patch: - Radeon and R128 XV_* controls and scales are out of sync. - Improve video size XV_* controls for capture to allow arbitrary sizes. - Verify, whether it can still be compiled without XVideo support. openSUSE 10.2 i586 binaries with this patch available at: ftp://ftp.penguin.cz/pub/users/utx/suse/10.2 ________________________________________________________________________ Stanislav Brabec http://www.penguin.cz/~utx |

Unfortunately, TV-out with the ATI drivers doen't work here :-( There might be a configuration issue. Could you share you xorg.conf file ? If there's anything I could do to debug the Gatos-related issues, I'd be happy to help. I don't know my ways around the X code, but I'm familiar with driver development. Hello, I have the same chipset, I worked with Rune tried to help debug it but Rune could not find a solution remotely... So I currently use ATI drivers only for TV out... Best Regards, Alon Bar-Lev. Hi everybody, I'm trying to get TV-out working on my RV350 board (Mobility Radeon 9600 M1= 0).=20 I had no luck so far with the ATI fglrx drivers. Unfortunately, the=20 open-source driver doesn't seem to work better. When starting X with TV-out enabled, the screen (DFP, this is a laptop) tur= ns=20 black. X freezes but can be killed, and restoring output on the DFP require= s=20 a reboot. I've been able to trace the freeze issue down to writeFIFO in theater_out.c= =2E=20 The TV_HOST_RD_WT_CNTL register is written with 0x41ff, but the write ack=20 flag never shows up, resulting in an infinite loop. =46rom the information I found on various forums and mailing lists, it seem= s=20 R300+ chipsets are not supported by Gatos yet. Is there any work in=20 progress ? Any documentation which I could use to fix TV-out support ? Any= =20 way to find out which registers have changed with the R300 serie ?
