What do you like best about Podium?

Using Podium for our business has streamlined our Customer Care so much! Our team is able to work together to quickly answer customers, day or night. Being able to track and follow-up on conversations, both phone calls and texts, helps keep our documentation in order. Poor Service, Lock-In Contracts, and Zero Customer Care

If you're a small business owner, do not sign up for Podium.

The cancellation policy is a trap, once you sign, you're locked into a year-long contract that you can’t get out of without paying the full balance, even if their service fails to deliver. And it did.

Every time I voiced concerns, they offered "upgrades" that looked free thanks to a temporary credit, but each one secretly extended my contract another year. Then they used those extensions as proof that I was satisfied. I wasn’t.

Worse, Podium didn’t even know who their customer was. They integrated my account into my competitor’s system, so every text my competitor sent out had MY name on it. It took a month to fix, while I paid full price, and because of that delay, I missed the training window and never got properly onboarded.

Customer support? There is none. You get bounced from one new rep to another—never the same person twice, and nobody seems to know your account history or even your business. It’s like starting over every single time you reach out.

If you’re a solo operator or small team, avoid Podium. It’s overpriced, disorganized, and downright predatory with how they handle contracts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Podium has completely transformed the way we communicate with our customers! The ability to engage directly via text messaging has been a game changer for us. Our team can quickly respond to customer inquiries, send reminders, and follow up on services all in one streamlined platform. The best part is that all phone calls and texts are automatically stored in each customer’s file, so nothing gets lost, and we can keep track of every interaction effortlessly.

What do you like best about Podium?

Using Podium has truly elevated the way I run my wedding business. What I love most is how seamlessly it combines communication and payments; two of the most important aspects of my day-to-day operations.

The messaging platform makes it incredibly easy to stay in touch with clients. Whether I'm confirming details, answering questions, or sending updates, Podium allows me to communicate quickly and professionally, all in one place.

On top of that, Podium’s payment system is a dream. It’s fast, secure, and simple for both me and my clients. I can send a payment link right through text, which makes the whole process so much smoother. No more chasing down checks or waiting for payment apps to clear Podium streamlined everything.

One ongoing issue has been technical glitches. There are times when the platform doesn’t perform as expected, which can be frustrating when I’m trying to run a time-sensitive business. It doesn’t happen constantly, but when it does, it disrupts workflow and can impact the client experience.

Additionally, customer support has been hit-or-miss. While some representatives have been helpful, others have been unresponsive or slow to resolve issues. What do you like best about Podium?

Podium has been great for communicating with our customers with both automated messages as well as direct messages. We also use it to communicate with our staff.It was very easy to implement as we were able to import all of our contacts and information from our prior service. Customer support has been fantastic since we began. Any time that we have an issue, we can chat, send an email or call (though we haven't used this option). Problems have been very few and far between. We use Podium daily and it is compatible with our livery software through which our automated reminders and other messages are sent to clients. What do you dislike about Podium?

I wish that the messages were listed in chronological order; this is the biggest issue for our team. There are several strands of messages, including one for "All Conversations", but even if "newest to oldest" is selected, it still does not list them in order. Sometimes we'll receive a message notification in a pop-up box and when we go to find it on Podium, it's either digging or doing a search. Another thing that is not great is that we used to have groups for our office staff that we could bulk message and that group was saved under a single contact. We used these groups to offer work, alert of traffic issues, and disseminate general information to employees. Podium does not have an quick option like this. Users have to go to bulk messaging and add people to send a message, though you do have the option to copy a previous bulk message to certain groups, but then it needs to be edited. I am waiting for them to offer a chronological option for all messages as well as an option to send bulk messages for back office employee needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Podium?

I run the day-to-day operations for our locally owned pool maintenance company. Handling as many tasks as I do, it’s important that the app I used to communicate with customers and handle my marketing is efficient and intuitive. Podium saves me so much time! Their software, the integration of AI, and the way the software adapts to my needs as I go is amazing. I could never go back to running this business without Podium. What do you like best about Podium?

There are several things that I like about Podium:

1. The ease of creating templates that are customizable for my needs based on a good 6-8+ different regular texts I need to send on a daily basis.

2. The fact that even when I close the conversation (to clear it from my inbox) that it does come back into my open conversations after a reply to my request(s). This is helpful as it allows me to know, through seeing it pop-up, that I need to attend to the response (or at least see it).

3. The ability to insert the most common "auto-insert fields" such as a customer's first name or similar content to more personalize or tailor my messages.

4. This is a little thing but makes a difference in/on time; if the first name in my contact field begins with a lower-case letter, Podium does capitalize it which is nice as it saves me time from having to go back in and do it manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Podium?

There are not too many dislikes that I can think of. If had to say one or two (small ones) it would be having a notification when another agent or user takes over any one particular (or ALL) of the leads that are assigned to me. Maybe this is already an option that I just don't know about? Something I can go into my settings or notifications and turn on? The 2nd 'dislike' is that I would love to be able to pull from or insert a field such as an appointment window time. This way I can select that from the ":____" dropdown menu. Again, this is likely an EASY thing to do once we have the field in Excel and then link it or pull from it properly through our System(s) which are Salesforce and Vision. What do you like best about Podium?

We love using Podium for our business! Excellent phone system and ability to work remote through web phone. Messages come through quickly and we have the ability to close out messages we are done with. We enjoy the features and while a bit hard to navigate the settings at times, we figure it out. What do you dislike about Podium?

The search feature needs to be fine-tuned a bit. Caller ID could use some work as well. I wish we could have read receipts, so we know when customers have received our messages. It would be nice to be able to have personal voicemails for every employee and be able to transfer calls, rather than put someone on hold and call their extension to let them know someone is parked on "1, 2, 3 etc" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
