NB: Reposting from Open Discusion Forum. Hope you dont mind? Currently TUTOS defines a product as a kind of project, but a product(work- product) should really be defined as the output or result of a project or task. Proposal: 1.The product business object should be re-designed so that every project or task must have at least one (work-)product as its output i.e. every Project or Task should have a deliverable. This makes it easier to understand when a task is complete. Additional work-products can be added over the duration of a project or task e.g. bugs found or fixed. 2.Only products can have a version tag. 3.Only Projects and Parent Tasks can have milestones. 4.Only Products can have installations. Any comments? Chris |

NB: Reposting this from Open Discussion Forum, I dont think anybody's there. Hope thats okay? I would like to propose an improve to the Project and Task Business Objects and would like some feedback. Problem: Currently the start and end times for Project/Task Business Objects are defined statically, regardless of whether it has child projects or tasks. Currently it is legal for a child task or project to take longer than the containing project/task! Proposed Solution: 1. Start and End times associated with a Project can only be derived from its child projects or tasks). 2. A task that has child tasks must derive its Start and End times from its children. Any comments? Chris |

Hi Folks, Some info for all of you who work with the latest CVS stuff. Today I have created a new Branch BRANCH-1-2 in CVS Working/Using this branch you will see how TUTOS 1.2 will get "more" stable. If you change nothing you will stay on the cutting edge of development which probably will get less stable within the next weeks. Ideas for new modules are welcome in the new develpment cycle. BTW: For TUTOS 1.2 I still wait for more feedback. If there are no more bugreports I will make a 1.2 final in 3 weeks after my vacation. have fun Gero |

Hi list, I plan to make the classic templates set based on css positionning, in order to better handle menu elements. So it won't be no more a kind of copy of what TUTOS looks like in branch 1. As I don't think you can call a web browser a software not abble to respect W3C standards as html, xhtml and css, I won't care about browser compatibility, but only about standard conformance. In other words, prepare yourself to writte a new template set if you plan to run TUTOS 2 in IE (for example). I think I'll soon be ready to show a consistent part of tutos using templates, that is a limited subset of tutos with products, tasks and bugs management. Gero, I'd like to put a demo on the www.tutos.org web site, could you handle that or tell me how to do it? Regards, -- Dimitri. http://dim.tapoueh.org Les trous noirs sont les endroits ou Dieu divisa par zero. |

Hello all Firstly I hope that I have chosen the correct list to join, although I am sure someone will let me know if I am posting to the wrong place. My name is Rick Timmis, I am the director of a small Linux / Open Source solutions provider ST Technology http://www.sttechnology.co.uk We provide services to business in the south west of the UK and have been established a little over a year now. We use Tutos for our CRM and Group planning requirements and use practically every aspect of the applications features. We have now included Tutos in our portfolio of products that we can provide, over the coming weeks we will be putting together some marketing material to generate more interest in your product. In addition we will be rolling out our second deployment of 1.1 into a commercial environment, along with this role out we will be providing a 2 day training course with presentation slides and short form documentation, which I will be preparing next week. Once complete and implemented I shall release this back to the group. As mentioned above we will be preparing some marketing literature in the form of PDF's which once again we will release back to the group. I have just downloaded 1.2 beta and have begun doing some testing on this, I will make notes of problems or ideas as I come across them and submit this report back to the group in the near future. So far I have found the new features very encouraging and find that the user experience has been much improved. appreciation is in order for what has so far proved to be a robust and feature rich solution Many Thanks Rick Timmis |
