Ah, I see. tutos2 as the development snapshot and once it is stable the code goes to the tutos package. Actually I use different servers for testing and production, so that's not a great problem for me. Was just trying to imagine posible scenarios. Maybe just the day I decide to migrate my production tutos I will install both in the same machine and then migrate the database, but that can also be done using a chroot enviroment or any other system like that. > I think I have broken the mysql compatibility in the new bugtracking module, > in bug_overview.php, line 658 and followings. I run a MySQL for dependencies of other applications and I prefer to run tutos using a MySQL server than running two SQL servers in the same machine. I will look into it to see if we can fix compatibility. -- .''`. Javier Linares : :' : javier at javierlinares.com `. `'` http://javierlinares.com `- |

In fact tutos2 package is intended as a kind of 'technology preview' of wha= t=20 tutos will be when the merge is done. I want the name to be tutos and the=20 code the BRANCH_2_0 one as soon as possible. As for the debian packaging, I've just taken what I've had already done, so= =20 tutos2 installs its files at the same location as the tutos package, thus=20 they are effectively in conflits. If there's enough interest in doing so, I'd put the tutos2 debian package f= ile=20 in another location (/usr/share/tutos2, /etc/tutos2, /var/lib/tutos2, ...) > - The tutos2 package recommends postgresql. If you can help fixing this, = we=20 can try and make tutos2 available for postgresql and mysql again. As it is now, I don't think mysql would be able to run tutos2. Hi again, I attach a review for the Spanish translation for brach 2.0. The last review I made was on october 2004 and only for the branch 1. I have changed some strings that were already there since I took the Spanish translation; I prefer not to do that (people get use to the strings in the interface) but some strings were really inappropiated and with the 2.0 branch people will already notice a change. :) Hope that's ok. -- .''`. Hi Dimitri, First of all thanks for all your work with tutos. If there are no real reasons maybe some user would like to go on with its tutos v1 installation at the same time that tests tutos2. - The tutos2 package recommends postgresql. I have mysql-server installed in my box and when installing tutos2 with aptitude (with the "install recommends automatically" option on) aptitudes still wants to install postgresql. Can I still make tutos2 work well with mysql? -- .''`. Javier Linares : :' : javier at javierlinares.com `. `'` http://javierlinares.com `- |

Hi list, It's time for yet another tutos2 checkpoint ! Recently, I've done some bug fixing, then developed some new task features,= =20 including Gantt improvements. You may be interrested in the fact that we us= e=20 tutos2 to manage our tutos2 developments, and some more. We've been successfully using tutos2 on our production environment since=20 august 2004 ! The new features are about subtask'ing, that is creating =AB logical =BB ta= sks and=20 milestones. When you create a subtask, the parent task is now automatically flagged as = a=20 logical one, and for now on its volumes, dates and state are computed from= =20 the informations to be found on its subtasks. Of course all this process can be nested at will. Other new task type is milestone, which should be obvious to all of you. Th= e=20 task_overview html representation uses a CSS image background to display th= e=20 milestone diamond, which is a poor way of doing it when the milestone is on= =20 current day. If you know how to do it properly without having to refactor the painfull=20 task::computeOverview() method, please let me know (or even contribute a=20 patch, i'd be more than happy to integrate it) ;) I've also made the debian package for TUTOS2 and had it included officially= =20 into debian mirrors, as you can check here: http://packages.qa.debian.org/t/tutos2.html The plan is for me to maintain this package whenever needed (new features,= =20 bugfixes, ...), and the aim is to attract some developers to the project. I= 'd=20 like to give tutos some more visibility, thus I'd publish some freshmeat ne= ws=20 and announcements... stay tuned ;) Next work planned is the XMLRPC long awaited stuff, which consists of=20 publicing TUTOS api for application logic, that is a lot of the classes ent= ry=20 points (I don't think all of them will be relevant). =46or the API to be consistent, we'll also have to look at common XML-RPC=20 groupware API's, and stick to them as much as possible. Then I plan to make some more reporting tools for TUTOS, in order for=20 developers to have a consistent week and month view of their activity, and= =20 for project managers to follow their teams and projects easily. The module list I'll port to TUTOS2 is quite finished now, we may care abou= t=20 the installation module, url and file upload, but I don't see we'll need=20 other ones. So if you want to help merging tutos2 into head, please conside= r=20 adopting some modules (porting a module is a matter of one to two days of=20 work). I'd be pleased to help you in the process. =46or more details, I'm available by mail, on this list, and on IRC #tutos= =20 channel on irc.freenode.net.
