What do you like best about Customer.io?

Although customer.io is a fairly technical platform, you don't need much technical knowledge to set up messages and campaigns. The platform is very user-friendly and designed in a way that feels intuitive. I hadn't used customer.io before, but learned the ropes in about three months time.

Customer.io has a bunch of features that are very useful to us: we set up recurring campaigns, use the in-app messages and surveys, and will get started with broadcasts very soon.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

I don't like the person attributes. I'd like to be able to define the fields (field name and type) in a central place in customer.io, instead of having them be created through the API integration or in campaigns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Customer.io?

Customer.io strikes a great balance between flexibility and usability. What we appreciate most is how seamlessly it allows us to build complex, behavior-driven workflows without overcomplicating the interface. The visual workflow builder is intuitive and powerful, making it easy to map out multi-step journeys that respond to real-time user actions.

The platform’s segmentation capabilities are another standout — dynamic segments based on live data ensure our messages stay highly relevant. We also like the ability to bring in custom events and attributes easily, which opens up a lot of room for personalization and experimentation.

On top of that, their documentation and support resources are reliable and helpful — we rarely hit a roadblock that we can’t work through quickly.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

While Customer.io is a strong platform overall, there are a few areas where there’s room for improvement. The UI, while functional, can feel a bit dated in places and occasionally clunky when working with large, complex workflows. Sometimes the loading times for larger campaigns or segment queries can be a bit sluggish.

Additionally, while the flexibility of the system is a big strength, it can also lead to a steeper learning curve for less technical team members — especially when it comes to working with liquid logic or managing data integrations.

What do you like best about Customer.io?

All my colleagues says that it has been very easy to learn how to use the tool. It is very intuitive and building an email and sending it out goes very smoothly. The drag and drop editor was very stable to use for creating our company branded templates.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

I am lacking functionality in building segments and working with conditions in campaign workflows. I think there are small improvements there that could give great benefits, in order to make it easier to set up the email journey the way we like.

What do you like best about Customer.io?

Great product that streamlines messages to customer that are transactional, marketing and product nudges. It's so user friendly that I've never even had to interact with a support team! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

It would be great it they had tool-tips as an add on so I didn't have to use another system for that. Additionally, I think some of the reporting on campaigns and broadcast could be a bit more detailed to get a better sense of gaps on how we are delivering messaging to our customer base. What do you like best about Customer.io?

I really like the flexibility. We have around **350K** customers and a lot of campaigns **running**. The ability to spin up campaigns quickly has allowed us to move fast to address our needs. It's also incredibly powerful. The built-in features are great, but it's easy to connect to outside tools and scripting if needed. I **especially** like all the built-in A/B testing. The **administrative** visual reports allow me to quickly evaluate campaign/message effectiveness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

I'd like to see some more powerful tools in the workflow builder. I'm not always able to branch in the ways that I'd like. Also, something as simple as assigning individual promo codes to a customer via messaging or a campaign often requires manual CSV importing or external scripting—I’d love to see a built-in feature for this. What do you like best about Customer.io?

Customer.io has been relatively easy for me to navigate and use on my own. I have experience with other platforms and not all are user friendly. Our account manager and the support team have also been extremely helpful along our jouney. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Because our business is set up a bit differently than most there are some things that don't quite work for us. For example with the current set up, if I want to set the goal to be just having someone click an email I need to create a segment and set the goal to be for them to enter that segment. Another example is that some of our ongoing campaigns need to stop sending at a specific date, but currently we need to just make sure we go in on that day and manually stop them. What do you like best about Customer.io?

We (1MillionResume) found customer.io really easy to use and reliable. We have integrated with our product and it is helping us send email to our customer based on stages in their journey.

Onboarding was smooth, we were able to setup nice automated email flows for our customers and integrate it with our app.
