This is a very powerful tool enhanced by AI. It offers team-friendly spreadsheets that are connected to a robust database, all without the need for any coding. I appreciate the smart columns, such as checkboxes and attachments, which make organizing information much easier. It's not as intuitive or opinionated as Trello or Asana, so you need to create your own workflow from scratch. The cost can increase quickly, especially as your needs grow. I've really enjoyed working with Airtable. It’s SO powerful but without the steep learning curve you get with some other database tools (like SharePoint). I’ve used it for all kinds of projects, from tracking grants to managing expenses. It’s honestly fun to set up and play around with. We use it every month for expense reconciliation and are working on building out a grant management system that would be used weekly.

For our nonprofit, the basic subscription has been enough to get a lot done, which I appreciate. That said, I do wish the higher-tier subscriptions were more affordable. The pricing makes it tough to give contractors or employees without a paid account the ability to engage with even the surface level of our data. The flexibility of the databases is immensely helpful to fill our various needs. It helps in maintaining and organizing inventory items and creating kits that we check out. We were even able to create some rudimentary "apps" with easily customizable forms that people can fill out putting things directly where they need to be so that it can be evaluated and manipulated. I feel as I learn more about Airtable the more use cases I find for it. Then I can just throw something together and test it out. They just added AI and it will generate things and can make a jumping off point a little easier but of the more complex calculations don't work so I have to spend alot of time figuring out what the AI did to make it work the way I want it to. I am not sure it saves time. I often have to deal with generic dates and time and but they have a very precise way of dealing with the time. You can use lots of invisible and hidden fields to get time working the way you want it to but maybe some pre-made function to like work with week days instead of specific day. Airtable combines the functionality of a database with the ease of a spreadsheet. It's really the best of both worlds. I've been using it for years, both professionally and personally. It's very easy to learn and even more so if you're technically minded. I've only had to contact support a few times, and it was for something I didn't know how to do; not an issue with the platform. Its biggest drawback is the lack of conditional logic options in forms. Occasionally, I've started out using Airtable but had to switch to Jotform since it has more conditional logic options. Most of my other "pain points" are visual, like not being able to word wrap column text. I love how customizable Airtable is for both individuals and teams. The collaboration elements of Airtable is extremely valuable and streamlines the typical back-and-forth on related deliverables, projects, etc. The drag and drop interface is easy to use and get familiar with. Airtable is like a spreadsheet on steroids, and the projects you can use it for are endless. I use it to do things like:

- Host a list-building bundle so I can automate sending relevant emails and create a sales page in Softr

- House all of my digital product surveys and reviews so I can get feedback from students and customers

- Create beautiful interfaces so I can see my data and take action

- And so much more

I've been able to use Airtable for almost every aspect of getting my business off the ground. We can have many people working on the same records without confusion. It was super easy to implement, and the customer support has quickly helped us the few times we've needed them. I love the multiple applications of Airtable. I use it in my nonprofit job, and I can use it to organize different programs, manage projects and tasks, organize scholarship students and sponsors, and coordinate volunteer groups. I like the automations and integrations that are possible. We have an on premises database and use Crystal Reports for most of our reporting, but through Make integrations I've been able to get some data from our database into Airtable, which then allows for endless functionality (including texting!). I will say that getting set up on the Business account took some time, including customer support being a little slow to respond. There's also a quite a steep learning curve without too much helpful documentation if you are using external solutions like Make. It's also not exactly the easiest to set up.
